Tenuta Barac

Winery in Langhe, Moscato d'Asti, Barbaresco

About the Winery

Tenuta Barac was established in the 1960s in San Rocco Seno d'Elvio, a small village within the town of Alba, at the heart of the Langhe wine region.

Armando Piazzo and Gemma Veglia, young newlyweds from farming families, decided to honor their heritage by investing in the Langhe's unique land.

The estate features a beautiful farmhouse from the early 20th century, which has undergone extensive historical and architectural renovations to reveal its original materials. Today, it offers cozy settings, warm hospitality, and high-quality services in a tranquil environment. Situated about 250 meters above sea level, Cascina Baràc provides guests with some of the most stunning views in the region. The view over the vine-covered hills of the Langhe is particularly enchanting, offering a truly unique experience in a timeless setting where nature, art, history, elegance, and hospitality seamlessly blend together.

About the Wines

The vineyards surrounding Tenuta Barac are part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site and belong to one of Italy's most celebrated wine regions. The landscape features sun-kissed hills adorned with rows of vines and verdant woods. The natural colors change with the seasons, presenting ever-evolving scenery. Among these vines are born some of the world's most esteemed wines: Barolo and Barbaresco. Tenuta Barac serves as the ideal starting point for exploring this enchanting area, rich in flavors and traditions.

Tenuta Barac is situated in a unique location at the heart of the Barbaresco hills, nestled in a green valley where vineyards blend with woods and abundant nature.

Afternoon in the vineyard
Highly recommended experience, the location is very charming and the hospitality truly excellent. The tasting was much appreciated for both the wine and the accompanying food.
The wine we liked most during the tasting was the white Arneis, in fact we also bought a case.
The vineyards are very romantic and everything was made wonderful by the colors of the sky at sunset.
Take just one afternoon to go to this fantastic place.

Perfect Wine Tasting and Tour with a lot of Information
The wine tasting exceeded our expectations! The sommelier showed us around the premises and into the wine cellar with lots of useful information. At the end we were able to taste 5 wines with small snacks (meat/cheese/crostini) and for each wine she explained again how it was made and why the different areas exist (like Barolo, etc.). She was also open to questions and was able to answer all questions professionally.
I can completely recommend this tour for everyone!

Good things come in small packages
Small winery with excellent wines, vineyard and cellar tour explained very well
5 tastings with an escalation of flavors and strength of the wines
Emanuela was very professional in explaining the wines and their nuances
I suggest changing the glass or simply suggesting to the guests that they rinse it with the water provided

Visit to Tenuta Barac (Alba)
We were shown a section of the vineyard that extends from the estate. From there we then visited the small cellar, with the various barrels.
Finally, they had us taste 5 glasses of wine accompanied by a small platter of salami.
Overall the visit was satisfactory, also thanks to the girl who acted as our guide, who turned out to be engaging and good.
