Degustazione a Tenuta di Vaira

Rate: 4 out of 5 4/1/22

About Winery and Wines

Tenuta Di Vaira was founded in the early 1950s in the heart of the Bolgheri DOC, a unique area where the sea breeze and rolling hills create the ideal microclimate for high-quality viticulture. Our production is deeply rooted in the Bolgheri land: this perfect balance between nature and tradition gives life to elegant wines, rich in character and unmistakable in their identity.

The Di Vaira family cultivates three different plots across the Bolgheri lowlands, a total of over 14 hectares of vineyards and olive groves. Attention to detail guides our daily work: year after year, we refine our winemaking and aging techniques to enhance the aromas, structure, and personality of our grapes.

During the visit, we will introduce you to the history of the Bolgheri DOC and our family estate, walking through the vineyards and exploring the Tinaia and Barrel Room, where our wines take shape. The experience ends in our panoramic tasting room overlooking the vineyards and the hills dominated by the Castle of Castiglioncello di Bolgheri, where you will taste a selection of our wines paired with our extra-virgin olive oil.

Wine is a living expression of the land it comes from. Every bottle tells a story made of climate, soil, tradition, and the people who care for the vineyard throughout the year. From the freshness of white wines to the structure and depth of reds, each variety brings its own personality, shaped by the terroir and by the choices made in the cellar.

Behind every wine, there is a balance between nature and craftsmanship: the attention in the vineyard, the harvest at the right moment, the gentle vinification, and the patient aging. These steps allow aromas, elegance, and complexity to develop naturally.

At Tenuta Di Vaira, we produce both blends and single-varietal wines, working with grapes such as Vermentino, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, but also Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Syrah, and Petit Verdot. Each of these varieties expresses a different side of our territory, offering a wide range of styles and sensations.

Whether enjoyed young and vibrant or aged and refined, a good wine reflects authenticity, harmony, and a clear identity — the true signature of the territory where it was born.
