About the Winery
Tenute dei Ciclopi is a winery located in Castiglione di Sicilia, Province of Catania. The owners are the university friends, that after having going around the world for many years, have decided to come back to their roots founding a winery that can be an ambassador of their territory. Guided by Salvo Foti, the winemaker who refounded Etna viticulture, we produce Etna DOC wines exclusively from native grape varieties: Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio for the reds, Carricante and Catarratto for the whites.
The winery produces a wine that speaks of us and our land, rooted in the fiery bowels of the volcano, the grapes of which are caressed by the saltiness that comes from the sea. A wine that is both from the sea and the mountains, that narrates, through taste and smell the kaleidoscopic culture of our island to people near and far.
The winery offers tasting experience in its just opened tasting room in the center of Catania, few steps from Piazza Duomo
About the Wines
We produce sustainable wines using traditional growing techniques, with strictly manual harvests . The wines are all Etna doc, with the exclusive use of native grape varieties. Our production consists of six wines, Etna Bianco Doc Galatea, Etna Rosso doc Polifemo, Etna Rosato Doc Aci, Etna Rosso contrada Feudo di mezzo, Etna Bianco Superiore and Etna Rosso Piede Franco Quota 900.

Not really worth the money
Great experience and great wines!
The wines were excellent, and the tasting was enhanced by delicious local food pairings. The host was knowledgeable and passionate, sharing interesting insights about Etna wines and the unique volcanic terroir. The combination of great wines and warm hospitality made this one of the highlights of our time in Catania. Highly recommended!

The tasting included four very enjoyable wines, along with some local food that added to the overall experience. The setting was elegant yet comfortable, creating a relaxed atmosphere where it was easy to unwind and enjoy the evening.
The staff were warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do. They shared interesting insights about the wines and the local area, making the experience both informative and enjoyable.
Whether you're a wine enthusiast or simply looking for something different to do in Catania, I would definitely recommend giving this a try. It's a lovely way to spend a few hours, discover Sicilian flavours, and make some great memories.
Fine wines in a dreamy landscape
I tasted very good white and rosé Etnas (2023 and 2024 respectively), then I tried a 2021 "Feudo di Mezzo Red" and that definitely made the trick for me, I'll be back for certain in the beautiful winery in the center of the city when I'm back in Catania (which, by the way, is stunning)
Hope I can vist the vineyards over the mountain too when I get the chance.

Take some time to visit Catania beforehand, it's quite a beautiful city, and the tasting room is in the center, in a quite characteristic neiborhood. Also the food was fantastic
A unique experience!
As soon as I entered, I immediately felt welcomed into an elegant and very well-kept environment, but at the same time warm and relaxed. It was an experience that moved me, because behind every wine I perceived a story, an authentic passion, and a deep connection with the Etna territory.
The wines were a real discovery: wonderful aromas, great elegance, and a minerality that makes them truly unique. I also really appreciated the professionalism and helpfulness of the person who guided us through the tasting, describing each label with expertise and great enthusiasm.
If you love wine and find yourself in Catania, I recommend you don't miss this experience. I left with a smile, a few bottles to take home, and the desire to come back soon. A huge congratulations to all the staff!
