Terre del Marchesato - Bolgheri

Winery in Bolgheri, Maremma, Etruscan Coast

About the Winery

Fattoria Terre del Marchesato is a small, family-run winery located in the heart of Bolgheri, surrounded by some of the most prestigious estates in the area. Managed by me, Giovanna, and our three sons, our winery is deeply rooted in Bolgheri's rich history. We aim to produce wines that reflect the unique terroir and tradition of our land, with a commitment to excellence and authenticity.

About the Wines

Our 16-hectare estate is planted with typical Bolgheri red grape varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Petit Verdot, as well as the indigenous white Vermentino. We strive to produce wines that stand out for their quality, strong identity, and deep connection to the land. Each wine we craft is a true ambassador of Bolgheri's terroir and our family's dedication to the art of winemaking.

Excellent
The first time it was given to me as a gift by my best friend and the second time I decided to give it as a gift precisely because the experience had been so fantastic, simple but captivating and intriguing, the staff was super as were the wine tastings and the bruschetta, I highly recommend it.

An experience to have and... repeat!
"Classic" tasting.
The experience begins with a charming walk through the vineyards, continues inside the winery among the steel vats and barrels of fine French wood, and then concludes with the moment of wine tasting on a warm and welcoming veranda.
Serena, our guide, accompanied us on this journey in an extremely professional and empathetic manner at the same time: her explanations were extremely detailed but still understandable even for those who, like us, knew little about wine. If you have any questions, you just have to ask: she will give you all the answers you are looking for.
Our tasting included three wines: a white (Papeo) and two reds (Emilio Primo and Tarabuso), very good. To accompany the wines, a small plate of crostini dipped in the oil of their own production, which was also very good. Finally, the very kind Serena offered us a taste of their gin.
We will definitely be back for a second round!

Beautiful winery, excellent wine and expertise
Very knowledgeable young women accompanied us in discovering this beautiful winery, perfectly illustrating the journey from the vine to the bottle.
The wines were excellent and in particular the Papero pleasantly surprised us with its elegance and structure.

An unforgettable experience at Terre del Marchesato
We visited as a family for their wine tasting tour, which also included a walk through the vineyard and a visit to the winemaking facilities. The entire experience was absolutely amazing - from the stunning location and warm ambiance to the exceptional service.
Our guide, Serena, was fantastic - knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly accommodating. She made us feel welcome from the very start and took such great care of us throughout the tour.
The wines were outstanding, each one better than the last, and the fresh bread with olive oil was simply delicious. We even ended up buying their amazing gin, which was a wonderful surprise!
Truly a perfect experience that made our day - highly recommended to anyone visiting Bolgheri!

From the vineyard to the glass
Splendid place, friendly and helpful staff. An interesting experience that allows you to get to know a complex and fascinating process up close, the basis for the production of a wine of excellent quality.

Winery visit
We participated in a winery visit with a tasting of some wines and a tour of the vineyards and the barrel cellar.

The winery representative was very kind and gave us various information about the pleasant wines and the winery.

Beautiful reception areas for the tasting.
Increase the number of wines to taste (only 3, in other wineries 4/5), although they did have us try a good Gin and a good "muffato".

During the tasting, we were served small pieces of bread drizzled with the oil of their production; I suggest expanding the bread offering a little bit with artisanal breadsticks, crackers, and so on (some wineries also offer local cheeses, although it's a bit at odds with good tasting practices).
