We had a wonderful time at Tenuta Santoro. Marco was a great host, engaging and with a sharp sense of humor. The food was very tasty (we had the Gurmand package for early dinner) and more than enough for a full meal. The wine was excellent and it worked really well with the food. To top it up, they have the cutest little dog we have ever seen. We loved the trip and the experience.

It would have been helpful to receive more information. Event time was listed as 7pm but was actually 7.30pm. Event was actually a “White Party” but we were not made aware that there was a dress code. Food was delicious. Live music started after 10pm. Lovely setting in the olive grove.

The winery is located in a beautiful area and hosts are incredibly kind and welcoming. Our tour guide, “Bene” (Benedetta) was excellent, answering questions and providing information about the history and traditions of the winery. She took us on a short walk to the family chapel where she gave us even more details about the founder’s history and about the different types of grapes grown in the area and the wines produced in San Giorgio a Lapi. The setting for the wine tasting and lunch is beautiful, under this giant mulberry tree that provides ample shade and lets the Tuscan breeze cool the whole place. Lunch was fabulous with strawberry gazpacho, pasta with cherry tomatoes (mind you, I’m not a pasta person) and pork so tender that you could almost cut it with a fork; this we enjoyed along with the wines produced at the winery, which were very very tasty. The whole experience was one the best ones we’ve had in this trip. Thanks to all the kitchen staff and in particular to Bene, our wonderful tour guide. Grazie e arrivederci !!!
