Among the dark rows of Vesuvius, the Sorrentino winery offers a journey that goes far beyond the classic tasting. The walk among the century-old vines, with a view of the Gulf of Naples, prepares the palate and the mind: the volcanic soil already tells the story of the wine to come. The “Vesuvio” menu is designed to enhance local, zero-kilometer flavors. It opens with a rich antipasto – cured meats, grilled vegetables, casatiello – and continues with pasta with Piennolo tomatoes, a symbol of the area, a vegetable parmigiana, and a homemade dessert. Each course is accompanied by a different glass: from the Dòrè Caprettone sparkling wine to the white and red Lacryma Christi, ending with the Aglianico Don Paolo. The wines fully express the mineral character of the soil: smoky notes, intense savoriness, but always elegant. The staff is welcoming and knowledgeable, able to weave together history, geology, and poetry without ever being didactic.

We booked a wine tasting including a trip to the winery by golf cart and initially assumed it would be a group event. To our delight, however, it turned out to be a private tour just for the two of us. The booking through Windering was absolutely uncomplicated. Upon entering the winery, we were almost a little intimidated by the size and beauty of the estate. The friendly welcome by Miriam and Elena put us in the perfect mood for the trip. Arriving at the trulli by golf cart, we first got to taste the house's own sparkling wine and enjoy the ambiance among the grapevines in peace. Afterwards, a very interesting tour of the estate and the wine cellar followed. To conclude, we had the opportunity to try the Trulli wines. For a small extra charge, we could also taste other wines – the Duna Mirante is especially recommended! Along with that, we were spoiled with an abundance of high-quality specialties like cheese, ham, mozzarella, and pastries. Miriam took an exceptional amount of time for us and answered all questions patiently and kindly. At the end, we also redeemed the 10% voucher in the shop, which we had received through the booking with Windering. In summary, it was an unforgettable experience for us: a detailed tour at our favorite winery with such a warm and competent guide as Miriam. We can recommend this tour without reservation.

I haven't done enough tastings to consider myself an expert, but I can guarantee that I will never forget the one at the Buniccu estate! Kindness and professionalism, and above all everything was delicious! It's just a shame that they had run out of wine to sell, otherwise I would have bought two bottles of red!
