Quinta do ValladoQuinta do Vallado´s 70 ha of vineyards are for the most planted in south and west facing slopes of slate soil, excellent for an optimum ripening of the grapes, taking advantage of the Mediterranean climate. Two thirds of the vineyards are planted in terraces with a single row of vines, pruned according to the double cordon system. The dominant varieties are, in reds, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Barroca, Tinta Amarela and Sousão, and in t whites, Viosinho, Rabigato, Moscatel, Verdelho (Gouveio) and Arinto. Reds: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Roriz, Barroca, Tinta Amarela and Sousão. Whites: Viosinho, Rabigato, Moscatel, Verdelho (Gouveio) and Arinto The old vines follow the ground lines and are planted in continuous rows distanced 1.2 m, with 1m between each plant. They consist of a field blend of more than 40 varieties, the predominant ones being Tinta Amarela, Tinta Roriz, Barroca and Touriga Franca. In 2009 Quinta do Vallado decided to increase its area of vineyards, having chosen the Upper Douro as the most favorable location to do so. Quinta do Orgal, located in Castelo Melhor - Vila Nova de Foz Côa was acquired and since then more than 30 acres of organic vineyards have been planted.

Quinta do TedoAt Quinta do Tedo, bringing together traditions from Burgundy and California, proprietors Vincent Bouchard and Kay Steffey Bouchard have revitalized a venerable winery and created new distinctive Portos and Douro wines. Our traditional closely-spaced planting (3.3 x 5 feet, or 1.10 x 1.6 meters) on steep terraces of rocky schist soil includes eighteen varietals of red grape, dominated by Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Tinta Cão, Touriga Nacional and Touriga Francesa.The vineyards are divided into five parcels, each separately vinified. The average age of our grapevines is thirty years, and their yield of 1.5 tons per acre (27 - 30 hectolitres per hectare) creates very concentrated flavors in the wine. Determined to provide an environmentally sound future for our children and for our customers, we are among the first Porto producers to practice what is called culture raisonable (responsible and sustainable agricultural practices), and in July 2010 our winery will become certified organic This means that we control the type of products and the amounts that we can apply to the vineyards. The soil, the plants and the grapes are periodically tested to ensure we are maintaining this high standard.

Quinta de Santa Eufemia is an independent family house, founded in 1864, situated in the valley of the Douro River, South East of Peso da Régua in Northern Portugal. Its more than 45 hectares of vines, produce the richest grape varieties Quinta de Santa Eufemia is now managed by the fourth generation of the family - seven great-grandchildren who have been producing these fine old Douro and Port Wines since 1994, and preserving the age-old skills of wine making and ageing.

Quinta do PôpaIn 2003, Zeca obtained his “piece ” of the Douro and bought his Quinta which at the time was called Quinta do Vidiedo, located in Adorigo – Tabuaço. The winery is situated in one of the oldest wine regions in the world, home to all his childhood memories. He invested all his economic effort, dedication and perseverance by acquiring small plots of vineyards, mostly old, as well as planting new vines and olive groves. These vines were blessed by the quality of soil and built in terraces above the splendor of the Douro River. In 2010, the dreamer then placed both his children – Stéphane and Vanessa Ferreira’s – feet on the Douro, keen to involve them in a desire to produce excellent wines under Pôpa’s signature. Zeca do Pôpa showed his children the magic that this terroir held, either through the production of fine wines, or by the Douro’s natural beauty and tradition. In 2012, Quinta do Pôpa opened its doors to the public, encouraged by friends and family to do so. Vinhos CortémSituated in the Estramadura (Lisboa Wines) in the DOC Obidos region, the vineyards are set in Hilly country near to Caldas da Rainha, The climate is temperate to cool, with a strong maritime influence and summer temperatures seldom above 30 degrees. Late harvests lead to well structured wines with natural acidity but sometines high alcohol content. Our vines were planted between 2000 and 2005 on cleared fields previosly unused for 30 years and have been grown organically fromm the beginning leading to full certification in 2010. Grapes and wines of this vintage and beyond are organically certified. Cortém has a very distinctive microclimate which has prompted some people to say that this is not the best place to make red wine. What they mean is that it is not hot enough. But there again the taste of our wines tell a different story. In this area our maritime climate is much cooler and has an increased rainfall each year making irrigation unnecessary. At night there are often cold sea breezes and fog, even in the summer months. Vines enjoy this cool night air as a contrast to the heat of the day. Our harvest is late compared with the southern part of Portugal and we may have to wait till the middle of October for the last grapes to ripen. At this time the weather can bring rain which if it persists can ruin the grapes, but we have to wait. We harvest each lot according to ripeness, The first to come in is the Jean and the Pinot Noir and the last is the Syrah, taking us well into the second week in October. The vineyards are situated in a protected valley where the predominant agriculture now is fruit growing. There are no public roads or houses in the valley which makes for a very clean and tranquil environment. Next to the valley there are several sq Km of forest and a large population of wild pig which come down to the vineyards at night! The soil is predominantly alluvial sandy clay but varies from field to field as the geology of the area.

Quinta Lixa-sociedade Agrícola LdaThe Quinta da Lixa is a living testament to the passion that the Meireles family has always had for Vinho Verde. This family has a number of business interests, and, while still it owned the vineyards around the small town of Vila da Lixa, it decided in 1986 to set up a small firm, and this became what is now known as the Quinta da Lixa - Sociedade Agrícola, Lda. At first the wines produced were sold in bulk, but it soon became clear that their quality and popularity was such that estate bottling was required. The increase in production made it necessary to build new facilities to replace the original winnery since this was no longer able to ensure the standards of quality for which the Company was noted.

Sociedade Agrícola Quinta Seara D`ordens LdaWe were at the end of the eighteenth century, when the Leite family acquired a large place near the spot of Poiares Seara. Its owner, fascinated by the beauty of the place and its excellent location, access promptly invested in the property and the planting of vineyards, olive and almond trees. Years later, his son, although a military career, never stopped worrying about the property and its development. Meanwhile he became the commander of the Lamego's barracks, but still spent much time on their ownership of Seara. During his absence from the barracks soldiers were sent to Seara to receive orders of the commander. The popular, admired by the passage of soldiers on horseback, asked: -Where to go? The soldiers responded that: -We go to Quinta da Seara receive orders from the commander ... So from that point, the place is now called the "Quinta da Seara D'Ordens"

Quinta da Raza | Vinhos de Quinta Quinta da Raza is located in Peneireiros, Celorico de Basto, in the Vinho Verde Region (DOC), adjacent to the Douro Region. Quinta da Raza has a unique terroir created by the gentle slopes and the magnificent exposure to the sun. The soil benefits from its granite origins with areas of schist and clay. This is very unusual in Vinho Verde Region. It has a microclimate created by the mountains in the west and the valley of the Tamega river which, unlike the other rivers of the region does not run from East to West, but from Northeast to Southwest, which together prevent the influence of the Atlantic winds. Therefore, there is less rain and has a greater temperature range. This means that our vineyard is subject to more sun than perhaps other vineyards in the Vinho Verde Region, which are important factors for the development of the vines. Moreover, the average altitude of Quinta da Raza is 250 meters, which corresponds to the best average altitude suited for growing grapes.
