Adriano Grasso
About the Winery
My name is Adriano Grasso, and I am a winemaker from Calosso. My family has been cultivating vines on these hills since the mid-1800s, and I have the privilege of continuing this tradition with passion and dedication. My estate spans 6.5 hectares, where I grow typical grape varieties such as Barbera, Moscato, Gamba Rossa, and Nebbiolo. I follow the principles of organic viticulture, respecting the natural rhythms of the land.
For me, every bottle tells the story of our region and the deep connection to the soil that surrounds us. My philosophy is rooted in caring for the land, maintaining harmony with nature, and preserving the traditional winemaking methods passed down from my grandparents.
If possible, I would love the opportunity to share my story and my wines with you, explaining how they are made and the unique region they come from.
About the Wines
I make wines only with the grapes grow in my vineyards and every grapes has own terroir of excellence.
The wines are made with the indigenuos yeasts and the aging is did on the fine lees to preserve the wines from the oxidations and to have more body, they are unfiltered and bottled in the quarter of waning moon.
-Calosso DOC Gamba di Pernice: is an old grape variety of Monferrato. the wine is caracterised by spice notes and pleasant tannins
-Barbera d'Asti DOCG: it is the iconic wine of Monferrato, with his rich flavour and nice freshness.
-Barbera d'Asti Superiore DOCG: the oldest vineyards of 70-80 years old give this great wine.
-"Adele" Metodo Classico Brut Rose': is made with a blend of Nebbiolo, Barbera and Pinot noir.
-"Doro" Moscato Metodo Classico: this sweet sparkling wine is obtained by re-fermentation in the bottle as was done in Canelli (where Italian sparkling wine was born) in the late 1800s

COULD BE IMPROVED
The cost is high for the service offered, although the wines are excellent,
it is not a merenda sinoira (as is traditional) but a sort of platter with cold cuts and cheeses in small quantities.
Adele and Gamba di Pernice
The walk through the rows of vines was truly pleasant and evocative.
Adriano was an impeccable host: kind, extremely knowledgeable, and able to convey all his passion for wine.
He guided us competently through the cellar and the entire production line, explaining every detail with clarity and enthusiasm.
The tastings were exceptional — wines we still remember for their intensity and authenticity.
A truly unique experience that we recommend to anyone who wants to experience the world of wine in an authentic and engaging way.
This year I know I can give some excellent Christmas gifts!
Thank you Adriano, until next time!
Metodo Classico Rosé Adele!
A fairytale!
Highly Recommended
The highlight was the delicious apéritif with a tasting of their own wines.
It was great!
A tasting between Langhe and Monferrato – Adriano's Winery
Among the vine rows and in the cellar, you can breathe the respect for the land, the hard work of generations, and the love for a job done with the heart. Every sip tells their story.
The tasting of three wines was unforgettable: Adele, an elegant and fresh rosé; the Barbera d'Asti, soft and pleasant; and the Barbera Superiore, intense and enveloping. All accompanied by excellent local products, cured meats, cheeses, and a jam capable of bringing back sweet memories.
A sincere experience, made of passion and authenticity. I recommend everyone to discover Calosso, the wines, and the wonderful Grasso family.

Tasting
First tasting
I recommend him to anyone, he welcomed us with a warmth (not referring to the 40 degrees outside) that made us feel at home, a fantastic person.
But staying on the wines, from the classic method Spumante "Adele" to the Barberas offered, they remain a pearl. A must-try.
A Professional and Tasty Experience!
The passion is perceived in the explanations, clear and engaging, and in an approach to wine that is authentic, natural, without forcing or excess.
The tasting was a true journey of discovery for the palate: personally, I was fascinated by the ADELE Metodo Classico Brut, elegant and persistent, while my partner fell in love with the Moscato Metodo Classico, a special gem that we had never had the chance to taste before.
To accompany the glasses, a generous platter of local cured meats and cheeses, among which the Bosio stood out, simply spectacular.
Overall, an experience that surprised and won us over: a winery that absolutely deserves to be discovered.
