Il Dosso di Archetti Luca

Winery in Franciacorta, Iseo Lake, Valcamonica

About the Winery

Luca Archetti founded Azienda Agricola Il Dosso in 1997 realizing the dream of his father Augusto, who died in 1990. Luca is permeated by the idea of an indissoluble relationship which must link the land to its fruits, that is Franciacorta to its wines. He does not understand, therefore, the attempts of the local viticulture to emulate the French, as for bubbles, or the Tuscans for reds. His inspiring thought is to refuse "corrections" in the cellar, as opposed to an almost maniacal care of the vineyard: the "terroir" must be freely expressed and must identify the wine, far from being homogeneous to hundreds of other products equal to themselves until boredom, whose main characteristic is to be sellable. Archetti will probably never become rich with this activity, but he certainly has a precise identity in the Franciacorta wine production that much bigger companies may have difficulty in finding. Six hectares of vineyards, for a potential annual production of 30,000 bottles. In the land of bubbles, Archetti without any qualms has chosen to privilege red wines, which make up more than three quarters of the wines produced. On the other hand the available vineyards, both for the exposure and for the mineral composition, are particularly suited for red grapes.

About the Wines

Up to six hectares of vineyards Luca personally follows the care of the vineyards, as well as all the other phases of the production of his wines, vinification, bottling, up to the guidelines of the styling of packaging...For vinification, investments have been made in the equipment of the cellar, such as controlled fermentation lines or the indispensable temperature control system for wine storage rooms. All of this has been done in absolute respect of the winemaking tradition. Every bottle expresses Luca's philosophy, starting from the characteristics of its content, of course, but even the color of the glass or the length of the cork, for example, are not accidental. As a matter of fact, despite the effort required, considering the size of the winery, Archetti pays special attention also to the "dress" of his bottles, which led him to redesign all his labels in the last months.

A wonderful experience
I brought my father for this tasting as a Christmas gift and we left really happy. A fun and different explanation than usual, more personal and human, excellent wines and a perfect food accompaniment with platters and precise explanations. I recommend it!

Fantastic experience
I really recommend this experience, you go home with an incredible wealth of information, conveyed with a great ability to explain things clearly (without excessive technical jargon that sometimes makes the explanation too complex) and excellent products, in a very beautiful location.

Good wine and so much passion
Mr. Luca and his family welcomed us to their winery, telling us their story and about their products, created with infinite passion. We were then able to taste all their white wines, finding them decidedly excellent... no reds, by our choice. Thank you for the lovely day

Excellent family-run tasting
If you are looking for an experience tasting excellent Franciacorta wines in a family atmosphere, you are in the right place!
The owner and his family know how to welcome you with warmth, convey their passion and experience in the field, and guide you in tasting their truly excellent wines. The platter of local cold cuts and cheeses was also excellent.
We really appreciated the opportunity to have been able to taste more wines than the three planned and the extra time dedicated to us.
If, on the other hand, you are looking for an Instagrammable experience, then you will be disappointed.

Tasting at Il Dosso (Franciacorta)
I discovered the Il Dosso winery in Franciacorta thanks to Winedering and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience!
The platform was very simple to use: in just a few clicks I was able to find and book a tasting, with all the information clear and well-organized.
It was an authentic experience that I absolutely recommend to anyone who loves wine and wants to discover the Franciacorta territory.
I will definitely use the platform again.

Unexpected
We arrived thinking we would do the usual visit to a winery with an explanation of the various phases of winemaking.
Instead, the owner took us on a journey through the history of Franciacorta and transmitted all his passion to us, which he has also passed down to his children.
Excellent tasting!!!
