Poderi Arcangelo

Poderi Arcangelo is a historic family-run winery located between Certaldo and San Gimignano, in the heart of Tuscany. The estate's story began in the early 1900s with Giuseppe Mora, who, after emigrating from Marche, planted the first 2 hectares of vines, establishing a lasting family tradition. In the 1960s and 70s, Bruno Mora and his wife Maria expanded the vineyard, dedicating themselves to cultivating native Tuscan grapes such as Sangiovese and Vernaccia di San Gimignano. Their commitment to the land, coupled with their passion for winemaking, ensured the estate's growth despite widespread urban migration, which saw many leave the countryside for factory jobs.

Today, under the leadership of Sandra Mora, Poderi Arcangelo spans 23 hectares of certified organic vineyards and 1,800 olive trees. The estate produces approximately 130,000 liters of wine annually, with a focus on high-quality native varietals. Sandra continues her family's dedication to crafting wines that reflect the unique terroir, blending tradition with modern technology.

In 2000, the estate became one of the first to receive organic certification and further embraced sustainability with the installation of a photovoltaic system for energy production and a phyto-purification system for water treatment. Currently, the winery produces around 60,000 bottles each year, with nine different labels, including the internationally acclaimed Supertuscan Granbaccano IGT and the award-winning Vernaccia di San Gimignano "Terra del Lago" DOCG. The estate’s wines are regularly featured in prestigious wine guides, highlighting their commitment to quality and sustainability.

- Chianti Colli Senesi DOCG : 90% Sangiovese, 10% Colorino
- Chianti Riserva DOCG "Il Cantastorie": 90% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot, aged 12 months in barrel
- Supertuscan IGT "Gran Baccano": 70% Sangiovese, 20% Merlot, 10% Cabernet, aged 18 months in barriques
- Rosato IGT Toscana "Il Giullare" - 60% Sangiovese, 40% Canaiolo
