About Winery and Wines
At Puglia POP sea, land, and culture become wine: we break the mould, taste the excitement. Our wine tastings, just like the bottles of wine, don’t follow the rules; instead, they attempt to rewrite them. We lead you through a journey of landscapes, scents, and flavours, which tell the story of our land, Puglia. Along with our wines, we have selected gastronomic products that represent small businesses and great traditions. We support local producers who, despite the challenges, are a real cultural stronghold. For centuries, wine and food have illustrated the warmth at the table and laughter among friends. We uphold this spirit for those whom we welcome to Puglia Pop.
RICCIO - Verdeca
Classification: Verdeca Valle D’Itria PGI
Grapes: 100% Verdeca
Tasting notes: Bright straw yellow with slight greenish hues.
On the nose, it reminds of green apple, medlar and pears, followed by hints of bergamot, lychee and pineapple in addition to pleasant floral hints of elder and hawthorn.
There is also a herbaceous note of rosemary and sage and a slightly almond undertone in the finish.
The taste is very delicate, gentle and citrusy. The freshness is striking but well balanced with a hint of karst mineral. Excellent dynamic and juicy on the palate with a slightly savoury finish.
Production area: Martina Franca (TA).
Alcohol content by: volume 12.5%
Notes from the winemaker: The grapes are carefully selected.
During alcoholic fermentation, the grapes also are subject to maceration on the skins; then pressing is carried out for the correct fermentation process and the extraction of the organic compounds from the skins, fundamental both for the aromatic profile of the wines and for their ageing.
TRIGLIA - Negroamaro Salento Wine
Classification: Negroamaro Salento PGI
Grapes: 100% Negroamaro
Tasting notes: Its pomegranate pink colour is unique.
On the nose, it is extra elegant with hints of fruit and cherry, strawberries, raspberries and pink grapefruit added into a floral contest of dog rose and red geranium on a balsamic backdrop.
On the palate, it is fresh, juicy and with a fruity balance, marked by a long fresh-acidic tone embellished by a gentle touch of savoury notes.
Pervasive finish pleasantly bitter.
