Great food, venue, service and wines
Tip: the winery is at the bottom of the valley, just off the main road… not the Castello Monterinaldi which is at the top of the ridge, 1km away… we went to the wrong place first, but at least had a lovely view….

El asentamiento del Castillo de Monterinaldi, en el municipio de Radda in Chianti, en el corazón de la zona histórica más antigua del Chianti Classico, está situado cerca de una antigua ruta etrusca. En cuanto a la historia de este antiguo lugar, un documento escrito en diciembre de 1010, hace referencia al "conde Gottifredo Gottizio, de ascendencia lombarda y señor de Monterinaldi" El castillo se mantuvo en pie hasta 1268, cuando los sieneses, tras la victoria de la batalla de Montaperti, destruyeron sus murallas, la torre principal y las tres casas del castillo. Debido a la última destrucción durante la II Guerra Mundial, sólo queda en pie una parte rodeada de algunas casas antiguas. El castillo de Monterinaldi es actualmente el centro de la granja homónima, cuya actividad vinícola se basa en La Pesanella, no lejos del castillo. La Agrícola Monterinaldi, propiedad de la familia Ciampi desde 1961, es una de las explotaciones más modernas del sector vitivinícola.
Monterinaldi’s carapace is located between Panzano and Radda in Chianti. Eighteen single Vineyards, 38 terroirs, fiftyfive hectares, as self contained as a turtle: Sangiovese of different clones, Canaiolo, Colorino, Malvasia Nera, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Gamay, Merlot, Cabernet-Sauvignon, Cabernet-Franc, Malvasia Bianca, Trebbiano, Chardonnay. Density is 5000 vines per hectare. And an Antebellum nursery. You’ll be at ease in our shell and the voice of the turtle will be heard in your land.
