We visited this small family-run business, located in the hills, in an ancient building.
The very kind owners truly welcomed us with a smile and the pride of telling us about their philosophy and their production, showing us the rows of vines, the cellar with all the production steps.
Afterwards we enjoyed their delicious products, explained with friendliness and in detail, in a tasting that then became a lovely chat.

Terrific tasting in the Mittelrhein
Our tasting at Weingut Toni Just in the beautiful wine town of Bacharach on the Rhine river, was amazing. Cecilia Jost, the young winemaker, and grand-daughter of Toni, was our enthusiastic host, in the intimate tasting room. We tasted a range of high-quality (VDP) Rieslings from the excellent Hahn vinyards, in a range of styles including dry, off-dry, and sweeter auslese. The wines are terrific value for money as well. Cecilia kindly dropped us off at the local Posthof restaurant for lunch afterwords. We made our booking through Winedering, which was convenient, and helpfully in English. .

Welcoming, friendly, delicious and interesting
Marco, a passionate and fascinating man, 5th generation. One day, who knows, his daughter will take over for the 6th generation, but he didn't seem convinced.
We chose the €45 menu, 3 kinds of wine accompanied by taralli and olives, then the local cheese and cured meats platter, a real delight. Marco is a very friendly person and passionate about his work.
I thank him for the few tips he was able to give, for visiting pretty villages not too far away, not necessarily touristy ones.

We were very well welcomed and guided throughout the tasting by a person passionate about their estate and who speaks several languages, including French. The explanations were very enriching.
The place and the view from the tasting room are magnificent.

It was okay
We booked a tour and the tasting combined with a lunch. In the description it sounded like you'd get one type/glass of wine per course.
We got there and were supposed to start with the tour. Then the plans changed and we started with the wines and lunch. We got the 5 wines at the same time. We got a little explanation of all the wines and after that it was just drinking the wine, which slowly started to warm up as well, and combine it with the food. The wines were allright, the food was very good! They kept pouring our glasses, After the lunch we got the form to buy wines and we got the bill. We never got the tour.
Location and surroundings were very beautiful!
Overall it was not very personal. It felt like they wanted to get us drunk so we would buy some bottles of wine (which turned out very expensive).

A dream stop
We spent a truly splendid day at Terra Antica. The lunch was simple but well-cared-for, with authentic flavors that paired perfectly with the atmosphere of the place. The tasting was the real highlight: excellent wines, described with passion and with a naturalness that makes you immediately feel at home.
The winery is wonderful, immersed in a landscape that looks like a painting, and every space is cared for down to the details. But what really makes the difference is the staff: golden people, kind, welcoming, and able to convey a love for their work without ever being intrusive.
An experience that stays with you, one of those that makes you appreciate the territory and those who live it every day even more. I would recommend it without hesitation.
