A unique experience in a beautiful location with very kind and welcoming staff who guided us through the cellars to discover the various types of wines, followed by an excellent and abundant lunch accompanied by a tasting of 4 different types of wines from rosé to Chianti Gran Riserva, finishing with a wine sorbet also of their own production.
Keeping us company for the whole lunch was the dog Bacco, a magnificent Australian shepherd...
Very satisfied with this experience, definitely to be repeated...

Great visit to Tenuta Mattei
We had a great visit to this vineyard. Welcome was warm and friendly and we were able to sample a great selection of their wines, accompanied by a very generous selection of cheese, salami and bread. There is a restaurant on site where we could have had a full lunch but snacks had filled us up! Only dropped one star as we had requested a tour in English (4 of us English, my husband is Italian). The guide was only able to guide us in Italian so my husband had to act as interpreter which was fine but not very relaxing for him! Well worth a visit however and we will be back.

We had such a special time yesterday during our wine tasting!
The wines were absolutely delicious, and the explanations were clear, interesting, and full of passion. What made it even more special was meeting the whole family – it gave the experience a truly personal touch.
Even though it was just the two of us, we were given a full tour and all the time in the world to ask questions and learn more. It felt intimate, welcoming, and truly authentic.
Also, my wife doesn’t eat meat, and they went out of their way to accommodate her – which we really appreciated.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a genuine and memorable wine experience!
