(Winery in Carcassonne)

Provides 1 wine tasting and winery visit from €74.50
Château Borie Neuve is a family-run winery nestled in the heart of the Minervois region, between the historic city of Carcassonne and the picturesque Canal du Midi. Steeped in tradition, the estate reflects the dedication of three generations of the Correia family. Grandfather Marcel, his sons Philippe and Bruno, and grandson Benjamin work together, growing the estate into what it is today—100 hectares of lush vineyards and scrubland. The story of Château Borie Neuve is one of passion and perseverance, a testament to family unity and a shared love for viticulture. At Château Borie Neuve, sustainable farming and respect for the environment are at the core of our philosophy. By blending traditional winemaking methods with modern innovations, we create wines that capture the essence of the Minervois terroir. Our vineyards thrive in a region rich with biodiversity, where the scents of thyme, rosemary, lavender, and garrigue plants infuse the land, and clay-limestone hillsides impart unique characteristics to our grapes. The result is wines that express the purity and complexity of this exceptional terroir.

An old written parment dating back since 416 AD, describes the existence of a beautiful gallo-romaine villa. It was destroyed during the French Revolution ; then the current Chateau Auzias was build early 19th century under the Napoleon Bonaparte Empire. Since 1872 Léon and Emile Auzias developed an important wine sales distribution from the Languedoc to the East of France, and created the brand name and labels still used today by the estate. In 1926, Eugène Auzias as a visionary, was the first winemaker to plant Atlantic grape varieties in Languedoc (Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon).  Today AOP Cabardès appellation, includes by law a minimum of 40% of Atlantic grapes in blends.
