Château Camplazens is located on the highest plateau of the La Clape region in the Aude, between Armissan, Narbonne, and Narbonne Plage, at the heart of the Narbonnaise Regional Natural Park. This ancient Roman outcrop is recognized as the largest natural protected site in the Languedoc (Natura 2000). This designation has conserved its wild, rugged and emotive beauty from its insular origins. Vines thrive in this harsh environment, bathed in sunshine and light.  Susan and Peter, originally from the north of England, always had a passion for French wines and gastronomy. After having raised their family in the United States, they decided to follow their dream of owning a vineyard and took on the challenge of creating quality wines at Château Camplazens. They believe in differentiation by excellence, and their commercial strategy has now reached a clientele of over 100 distributors in 26 countries.  Each is responsible for their own sector of the activity at the domaine, and they make a complementary team at the head of the company. Yann, the vineyard manager, handles all the wine-growing and production of the domaine, Philippe handles the administration and logistics, and Léandre manages the commercial, marketing and event side of Camplazens.

At the Chante Cocotte estate, located at the foot of the village of Fontcouverte and on the foothills of the Alaric mountain, the plots cover 4 hectares. The century-old Grenache and Macabeu vines benefit from limestone soil (white marl and travertine) while the Merlot, Syrah, and Cabernet Franc flourish on a terroir of colluvium and alluvium at the bottom of the valley, deposited over time. millennia. The Joure stream and the Fontcalel source run through the vineyard and nourish the roots, providing unique organoleptic qualities to the terroir. Throughout the summer, the berries take on colors under the song of the cicadas before expressing their aromatic palette during vinification and aging. All of the Chante Cocotte estate's plots are harvested manually at daybreak to preserve freshness and aromas. The clusters are selected and sorted by hand. The terroir, the first place of a great wine, thus retains all its authenticity. The estate is currently undergoing organic conversion. Their goal is to respect the plant and the soil on which it flourishes, in balance.

THE CHATEAU AND CELLARS built in 1881 by wine-makers - Huc family who known at Moux from the early 17th century. THE TERROIR placed at the foot of mountain Alaric with clay-chalk slopes lightened by alluvial gravels from Quaternary period. Its North exposition between dry Mediterranean climate and damper Atlantic air provides longer ripening period which is essential for the finesse and aromatic complexity. THE VINEYARDS 6,5HA of 30 years old Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot that do not form Corbières AOP allows to produce “Domaine” IGP wines. 16,5HA of 30-60 years old Carignan, Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre form the backbone of Corbières AOP wines. All of them are only manual cut and picked up. Mansenoble avoids even small fertilizing considering that natural life of the grapes gives complexity to the wine. THE WINE-MAKING with picking up at optimal ripeness, lengthy traditional fermentation, manual “pigeage” allows extracting finest constituents of grapes. Slow maceration gives character and structure to the wines.

An old written parment dating back since 416 AD, describes the existence of a beautiful gallo-romaine villa. It was destroyed during the French Revolution ; then the current Chateau Auzias was build early 19th century under the Napoleon Bonaparte Empire. Since 1872 Léon and Emile Auzias developed an important wine sales distribution from the Languedoc to the East of France, and created the brand name and labels still used today by the estate. In 1926, Eugène Auzias as a visionary, was the first winemaker to plant Atlantic grape varieties in Languedoc (Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon).  Today AOP Cabardès appellation, includes by law a minimum of 40% of Atlantic grapes in blends. For now more than 20 years, this family estate is running by Dominique Auzias. Dominique is the famous founder of the Petit Futé Guides, the worldwide leader of travel books. Since he started to manage the family estate after 4 generations, he improved quality and distribution. Chateau Auzias is now distributed in more than 30 countries.
