La Madeleine winery, owned by the D’Alema family, sits on the hills between Narni and Otricoliin the Italian region of Umbria. The estate was previously dedicated to livestock farming. The vision and mission of the owners guided the long and substantial renovations needed before the vineyards and olive groves could be hosted on the estate. La Madeleine winery is located near the archaeological site of Ocriculum, hosting an ancient waterway port, and the estate covers an area of 7,5 hectares (which includes Pinot noir, Cabernet franc, Marsellan, Tannat and Ciliegiolo grapes). La Madeleine produces around 42,000 bottles per year, using solar energy and rainwater collected through the use of tanks. The owners have retained the name of the estate: La Madeleine. This name echoes with literary intensity and represents a reference to the centrality of memory to the future and innovation.

Our cellar is seamlessly integrated into the hillside, with only three stone arches and a large portico visible, safeguarding the wines in the natural embrace of the earth. Here, modern technology meets ancient craftsmanship, preserving the essence of our terroir while respecting the traditions of winemaking.
