5 What a treat!!!!!! (Sylke)Yesterday, my best friend, partner in crime, and love of my life celebrated the last birthday in his 60s. Federico and Guiseppe made it a special day. We have had quite an amount of wine tastings in our lives, in South Africa, the Azores, Germany,....... But this one was very special: a bottle of white wine who came out of a water well , some toasts with olive oil and oregano we found in a ceramic can all over sudden under the olive trees, a "light lunch" which actually ended up to be loads of small typical Sicilian specialities...... tasting 6 different wines out of bottles and the last one from a wooden barrel. A walk around the vinyard and through the wine cellars, anecdotes, and meeting the whole family made our afternoon perfect. We learned a lot about winemaking in general, winemaking in this specific region, and about winemaking and producing olive oil with the tradition of Federicos and Guiseppes family. We bought some bottles of wine but fortunately forgot to buy the amazing olive oil.....so we have to go back.....

5 A young passionate winemaker (Rosemary)This winery was unexpected modern in its design and production methods but the wines were old world fantastic - exactly what you would expect from such a passionate young winemaker - he is in love with the land and his people and wants to encourage the young of Sicily to stay and find their future in Sicily / his wines are exquisite- we looked into shipping but the shipping costs prohibitive so we took what we could carry -

5 Thoroughly enjoyable exprience (Michael)Our group of four had a thoroughly enjoyable experience at our wine and food sampling experience at Baglio Bonsignore. I'm not sure if it was because we were there "off season" (late May) or because our group was small, but the personal touches and attentive service were excellent. AND the wine was excellent, sampling their white, rose, and red. I must admit, I'm not a fan of dry whites, but those in our group who were, thoroughly enjoye their white. As far as their Nero d'Avola is concerned, it was definitely my favorite. And we ALL liked their rose. Since I've been able to buy and ship some of their wines home, I expect I'll maintain contact with this winery, thus leading to future visits. Yes, I would thoroughly recommend this experience to anyone traveling in their region of Sicily.

5 More than Excellent (Andrea)We arrived at 9:30 as directed by our reservation via Winedering- which is wrong- their brunch tasting does not start until noon. However, the hosts/owner graciously took us on a tour of his vineyard property, meticulously explained the region and wine making, then took us into Naro for a Quick look around the town/castle (their Baroque tour). When we arrived back to the house, our brunch experience awaited. We were led to the upstairs patio to a lovely set table. The food was absolutely wonderful, and the wine!!! The wine is absolutely divine. Great descriptions for our tastings. We even ordered a case to be shipped home. Such a wonderful couple who run the winery, they really made our first day in Sicily a special memory. Thank you!

5 Great experience (Alison)One of the most unique wine tastings we have experienced. Coming from Australia we are used to wine tastings where you are in and out in 45mins. It was wonderful to be given a tour of the vines and winery and learn all about the history of the vineyard. The wines were of high quality and the snacks that were paired with each wine were spot on and showcased the local produce and food. We'd definitely recommend this winery to other people.

4 Wine Tasting (Silke)The short tour of the winery and, so to speak, the 'wine cellar' was quite interesting. All questions were answered. The subsequent tasting of the wines was also very appealing, however the surcharge of €15 for an Italian snack platter was a bit overpriced.

5 An all-around successful tasting (Angela)We were most warmly welcomed by Alfredo at his winery. He led us through his wine cellar and explained the production of his wines. Afterwards, there was a tasting of four wines with a corresponding culinary accompaniment. This also included homemade bread spreads as well as a caponata. Everything was very delicious and is to be recommended. We had an all-around successful tasting, which we can only recommend. His wines are a successful blend of native and well-known grape varieties, like Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc.

1 Cancelled last minute (Hubert Lemieux)As I was leaving, even though we had booked and it was approved, I messaged the vineyard on WhatsApp and they cancelled on me. It left us without any plans for the day. Although they proposed another time, it was so late in the day that we would have had to cancel our restaurant reservation.

5 Wonderful (Leduc)Great place. The owners are very kind, welcoming and very thoughtful. The tour of the vineyard is very interesting because there is a history with this vineyard. The tasting is excellent, with real meals that are served to us and they are delicious. You will leave this tour fulfilled.

5 Highly recommended Tour of a splendid winery (John)Tenute Camilleri are located just under 30 minutes from the B&B where we were staying off the SS115. We arrived slightly early and were immediately welcomed by Mr Camilleri and his son in law. They proceeded to give us an overview of the history of the winery over the past 50 years and what they produced. Next we had a tasting session of some wonderful olive oils. Our winery guide arrived and took us around the place. She spoke both Italian and English so we felt comfortable. As we went around the place, we had frequent stops with little "surprises" that included wine tasting complemented with fresh local food and snacks. We then ended up under the shelter of an olive tree where we continued tasting wines and snacking. Incredibly we ended up quite full and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I love Sicilian wines and try and visit a winery whenever in Sicily. I suggest that you do this visit any time of the year but avoiding the peak of summer (late July to August) as it can be quite hot. After finishing, we were offered to buy wine which we did and it is not expensive at all. Good to see the work that goes into agriculture and the making of wines. It's a very tough job and not appreciated enough. Getting there and returning was easy, just drive slowly in the country roads. Lovely place, lovely people, excellent guide and splendid wine. Cannot stop recommending it! 5 star.

Interesting location, a facility maintained with care and love by the Camilleri company. Peppe's passion is evident in his every word or gesture, this is his strong point.
