Provides 1 wine tasting and winery visit from €30.00
Soloperto Vini is a family-run winery with deep roots in the heart of Apulia, dating back to the early 20th century. The winery's journey began when the Soloperto grandparents recognized the potential of the land and established one of the region's first wine commerce companies. In the late 1960s, Giovanni Soloperto took a groundbreaking step by bottling pure Primitivo in his small cellar, even before the DOC law was established, marking the beginning of a tradition that would shape the future of the winery. Today, the cellar produces around 2 million bottles per year, with Primitivo di Manduria as its flagship wine, complemented by other traditional Apulian varieties such as Negroamaro and white grapes from the Murgia hills, contributing to the DOC wines of Martina Franca and Locorotondo. Soloperto Vini’s philosophy is centered on promoting Apulian indigenous grape varieties, crafting both approachable, ready-to-drink wines and more complex, age-worthy selections. Each bottle embodies the rich history and terroir of Apulia, delivering a unique taste of the region to the world. Giovanni Soloperto's legacy continues through his children, Sabrina and Ernesto, who now run the winery. Their mission remains the same as their father's: to champion the Primitivo grape and to restore dignity and pride to the land and its people. Giovanni's pioneering spirit and vision, from offering better prices to local grape growers to putting Primitivo di Manduria on the map, are the foundation of the winery's ongoing success.

Masseria Borgo dei Trulli
(Winery in Primitivo di Manduria)

Provides 2 wine tastings and winery visit from €25.00
Masseria Borgo dei Trulli is an agricultural estate established in some of the finest wine-growing areas of Salento, particularly in Sava, Manduria, and Maruggio in the province of Taranto, where it cultivates Primitivo, Negroamaro, Vermentino, Malvasia Bianca, Fiano, and Sauvignon Blanc. In Guagnano, in the province of Lecce, vineyards are dedicated to Negroamaro and Malvasia Nera for the Salice Salentino DOC. An ancient masseria surrounded by vineyards was chosen as the ideal location for the winery, ensuring that the grapes are vinified close to where they are grown. The modern facility, situated in the Roselle district of Maruggio, lies just 5 km from the Ionian Sea and sits in the heart of the Primitivo di Manduria DOP. The estate takes its name from the region’s distinctive trulli saraceni, scattered across the landscape. In Puglia, the term masseria refers to the central rural building where agricultural products are processed and stored. Designed to harmonize with the surrounding environment, the winery was built beside a carefully restored historic masseria. The contrast between state-of-the-art winemaking technology and the traditional tufo stone structure, once used as an animal shelter, highlights the fusion of innovation and heritage. The arched and star-vaulted ceilings reflect the region’s architectural identity, creating a space where the work in the vineyards and cellar seamlessly connects with the pleasure of tasting fine wines.

Masseria Jorche has a rich and storied past, dating back to the late 17th century when it was established during the Spanish domination of Puglia under the feudal system. Originally, masserias like Jorche were self-sufficient agricultural hubs, complete with living quarters, animal shelters, and storage for food and agricultural tools. Jorche, one of the largest and most complete in the region, reached its height of prosperity at the end of the 19th century under Baron Bardoscia. The central building, the oldest part of the estate, was split between the upper floor, reserved for the landowner, and the lower floor, which housed the workers. At the start of the 20th century, Masseria Jorche became a symbol of the region's agricultural wealth and continues to stand as a monument to Puglia's historical and cultural heritage.

The passion between our family and wine burst in the first decade of the past century. Our grandparents, in fact, understood for first the potentialities which a land as our could express, setting up one of the first companies for the wine from cask commerce. Toward the end of the 60’s of the past century, our father Giovanni Soloperto made a step forwards and, before the DOC law, he put in bottle pure Primitivo in the first, little cellar.
