Emilio Sciacca

Winery in Etna

About the Winery

Emilio Sciacca’s passion for Etna and good wine was born about 15 years ago. As a passionate traveler, he began to explore the areas most suited to excellent wine-making and, in the same years, took part in an ONAV tasting course. The wine thus become the right companion for countless pleasant moments in his life. For many years this passion remained a hobby for him. Graduated with a degree in Engineering, then a Doctorate. In the meantime he cultivates his passion for foreign countries, for languages and nature, for his own land and for Etna. From a young age he is able to make the most of his professional, economic and cultural resources to make his passions his work. So, it follows its entrepreneurial nature, and its volcanic nature. Step by step he leaves the world of research to enter the world of entrepreneurship.

About the Wines

The Terroir Of Etna is a particular terroir with a strongly oenological vocation, thanks to its properties and characteristics. It is therefore under the attention of sector specialists, like the most well-known French and Italian terroirs. Our way of understanding the word terroir is the combination of soil, microclimate, grape varieties and wine-making traditions present in a given territory. Terroir, in this sense, determines the character, sensory uniqueness and organoleptic quality of its wine.

A pleasant discovery
We opted for the lunch with tasting, and we were truly satisfied with both the different wines we tried and the truly delicious lunch.
Very welcoming staff, and a beautiful winery with a spectacular view of Etna (which on this occasion was still snow-capped despite it being May).
An excellent choice.

Good but not great
I didn't know the place, I discovered it thanks to a tour voucher that was given to me as a gift, and I must say it was a nice discovery. The winery tour was nice and interesting, the person who told us the history and the production phases was very helpful and thorough. I expected something more from the lunch and a little more attention during the wine tasting. I was disappointed that no DOC was included in the tasting.
We were asked to pay an extra amount on top of the one listed on the website because they say it hasn't been updated, the staff was really kind and helpful and overall the experience was definitely positive.

Exciting
Our children gifted us a wine tasting at the Sciacca winery. A beautiful experience: the vineyard, the view, the restaurant. The wines, the expertise of the staff.

Excellent experience
Absolutely wonderful experience - we had an English speaking guide who talked us through the variations of grapes and the history of the vineyard followed by a delicious meal with several courses. All divine and paired wines.
My mum loved the experience. Grazie mille

A Wonderful Experience!
My family and I had a lovely time at Emilio Sciaccia. The food was delicious, the wines were very enjoyable, and Vincenzo the sommelier answered all of our questions and made us feel very welcome. All staff were very hospitable, and our server Valentina did an excellent job. The location is stunningly beautiful, with a large terrace offering a panoramic view of Mt. Etna and the surrounding agricultural area. Highly recommended!

Tasting lunch
Vincenzo showed us the vineyards and technically described the types of grapes they cultivate.
Beautiful and characteristic facility, the lunch positively surprised us because it was different from other wineries.
Particular wines well paired with the dishes.
We will definitely repeat the experience.

Interesting wine and incredible food
We loved our afternoon at Emilio Sciacca. Our guide for the first part of the tour was the sommelier and he was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. Though the weather wasn’t great for our visit he still took us outside to explain the wine growing and making process with such passion. The facilities are great—it’s a converted old Palmeto (wine making press). On better weather days I am sure the views are unbelievable. The wines are really unique and interesting but what really made the day was the 3-course full lunch. The food was fantastic-legitimately gourmet restaurant quality. We loved our experience—don’t hesitate to book and support this boutique vineyard!
