3 Good value Cretan wine tasting (Gerald)We opted for the 6 wines sampling option but in fact were given more than 6. The host was friendly and polite, explained about the wines. This was a good value experience and an interesting opportunity to sample traditional Cretan varieties.

5 Excellent wine (Jackie )We really enjoyed our experience there. It’s informative and the wine was delicious. We had a lot of fun with our host that day and she was fun to banter with, but very knowledgeable. Of the two wineries we made it to, we were very happy with all the wine we tried from there. The snacks were very good as well. The rose was so unique and buttery from what we have in the states. We bought some to drink while we were in Greece, and the rose had to come home to share. 5 One of our favotite in Nemea (Dimitar)As part of our wine tour in Nemea we booked a visit to Barafakas winery through winedering.com. It turned to be one of the best wineries we have visited. We had an excellent host and we met briefly with the owner Mr. Christos Barafakas, who comes from a family with a long wine-making tradition. He established the current winery about 20 years ago and it is now one of the middle-sized wine makers in Nemea. They have an impressive variety of labels, thus a comprehensive degustation is recommended. From the whites we liked the Malagousia and the very good Chardonnay, which were followed by syrprisingly good roses (the Three Witches!!). And, of course, great Agiorgitiko reds. The tasting was a real pleasure and we had a very informative doiscussion (part of our small group were winemakers themselves). Thus, altogether it was a wonderful experince which we recommend to anuyne who tours the region.

The vineyard was beautiful. We loved the cooking class and the 11 course meal was amazing. The wine was really really good. I bought a bottle to bring home for us to enjoy together. 5 Enjoyable experience with Greek wine and food (Terry)Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon at the small family-run Anastasia vineyards.. Jason was a gracious host.. it was an educational experience learning about each of the grape varieties grown onsite along with the wine tastings afterwards. The interactive cooking lessons were great and the bountiful meal the kitchen staff cooked up was boarding on absurd! We left more than completely full. Jason also shared the recipes with our group so we could continue to prepare these Greek dishes at home as we fondly remember our experience. Thanks Jason!

5 A lovely discovery (Jagut)Coming up from Matala (south) towards Heraklion, we came across this winery that was offering wine tastings by the glass. Several packages are offered, from a tasting of 4 glasses up to 10 and more. The prices are reasonable and the tasting is accompanied by cheese, breadsticks, olives, croutons... We visited the cellar for the production and storage. Superb welcome in English with a few words of French. The wines are perfect and we brought back a few bottles to enjoy in France. We will come back.

5 Nice Wine & Cooking Class (Sowa)We spent a nice day at the winery with tasty wines, a really good host and excellent food! Host Jason explained everything very well, the "cooking class" is more a fun way to try things, not that much cooking itself, but we got the recipes for the dishes right away and enjoyed really good (and mostly vegetarian) food.
