IL ROCCOLO DI MONTICELLI

Winery in Valpolicella, Amarone, Soave

About the Winery

Il Roccolo di Monticelli is a small, family-run winery born from a deep personal passion for restoring an old family vineyard on the limestone hills between Verona and Soave, enclosed within a small traditional clos. What began as a personal project has grown into a daily commitment to farming, winemaking, and storytelling through wine.

Here, a historic vineyard planted in the 1960s grows alongside an area of century-old olive trees, creating a unique agricultural landscape closely tied to the territory. Working among these vines is not just a profession, but a way of living on the land with care, patience, and respect.

Our approach is guided by a strong belief in low-intervention farming and in listening to nature. In the vineyard, we use only sulphur and very small amounts of copper, herbal teas, and manual work, with no herbicides, no irrigation, and no chemical fertilizers. Spontaneous grasses are encouraged to grow naturally, supporting biodiversity and soil life.

In the cellar, fermentations are spontaneous, driven by native yeasts on the grape skins. We do not add sulphites at any stage of winemaking, and we avoid filtration and clarification. This natural approach allows each wine to express a unique personality, shaped by the season, the land, and the people who care for it.
Every vintage tells a different story — a story of work, patience, and passion.

About the Wines
