Cantina Mussennore is a family-owned winery in Mamoiada, deeply connected to its land and heritage.

The winery was founded by siblings Antonio, Francesco, and Roberta, along with their parents Maria Antonietta and Pietro, who chose to honor their roots and the vineyard established by their grandfather Gesuino in 1976. The vineyard has been passed down through generations, symbolizing the family's dedication to preserving and nurturing their land. Cantina Mussennore is committed to producing high-quality wines, working closely with the local community and valuing the principles of family, belonging, and cooperation. The winery’s name itself, Mussennore, reflects the respect and love the family has for their history, as it was the nickname of their grandfather, who laid the foundation for their current success.

About the Wines

The vineyards of Mamoiada, situated between 600 and 800 meters above sea level, produce grapes with exceptional intensity and aroma, particularly the Cannonau variety. This grape is deeply rooted in the traditions of the region, making it more than just a wine for the people of Mamoiada.

Cantina Mussennore celebrates this heritage with wines like Mussennore Ghirada Palagorrai, a robust expression of Cannonau, Mussennore Rosato, a delicate rosé, and the Mussennore Riserva 2019 Cannonau di Sardegna DOC, a refined and aged Cannonau. The Granazza IGT Barbagia showcases a unique white variety, offering a glimpse into the diversity of the region's viticulture.

Positive experience
It was a positive experience right from the welcome. Roberta was very good at explaining not only their products but also the territory and the history of Cannonau. Excellent wines and much-appreciated typical Sardinian products. A recommended experience for those who want to discover a micro-reality of the Cannonau territory.

Amazing wine tour
We took the wine tour on a sunny afternoon, after arriving at the winery we were driven to the vineyards by the family. They were really friendly and so knowledgeable about the wines. The vineyards were gorgeous and we had the opportunity to walk around and take photos. We had 3 generous glasses of delicious wine to try, and a huge board of traditional meats/cheese.
The whole experience was great and we learned lots about the Sardinian wine making culture!

Wine Tasting at Mussennore
My partner and I had the most incredible experience at this wine tasting! Roberta was beyond lovely and easy to speak with. The surroundings were calm and beautiful. We got to learn a lot about life in this village of Sardinia and enjoyed the most delicious wine. Highlight of our trip and a cherished memory!

Small winery but a great company
My partner and I went to the Mussennore winery for a tasting and we were not disappointed; on the contrary, we left more than enthusiastic.
Roberta was kind and precise in answering all our questions.
The wines were accompanied by a selection of excellent cured meats and cheeses.
Having mentioned that one of us has celiac disease, they were also very kind to provide some gluten-free bread.
We absolutely recommend the tasting at this winery.

Excellent wine and wonderful people
A very positive experience on a personal level but above all for the quality of the product. We were welcomed by Samuela and Pietro into the family winery and after a friendly chat and especially after an interesting historical and cultural overview, we moved on to an exhaustive explanation of the winemaking techniques used and of some “gems” that are the extra touch of this Winery. We then moved on to the wine tasting; three different types of Cannonau of a superior quality to those tried so far; more than inviting colors and flavors. All accompanied by a generous platter of local cured meats and cheeses. Everything was excellent but the “top” was a 2019 Cannonau Riserva. Fantastic!

The experience at Casa Mussennore was unforgettable. They welcomed us like friends, explaining their work and their land to us in detail. The tasting was complete and satisfying, time flew by.

A wonderful experience
I booked a wine tasting at the Mussennore winery in Mamoiada through the Winedering website. The booking was very simple and fast, the site is well-organized and intuitive and allows you to view the various proposals in depth, it offers lots of alternatives and for each one there is the possibility to request more info if necessary. I opted for a wine tasting to surprise my boyfriend, and I must say it was a real success! The experience in itself was beautiful, I can recommend it to anyone, even to those who, like me, are not big drinkers because in addition to the wines (which according to my partner were among the best he has ever tasted in his life) you will be offered typical local delicacies that you will not find in any other part of Sardinia, but above all you will spend a couple of hours in the company of wonderful and genuine people, who will immediately make you feel enveloped in a warmth of other times, typical of a familiar place that smells of tradition. We met Mr. Pietro and his daughter. I want to give a special thanks to Roberta, as young as she is tenacious, prepared and proactive, who with pride and optimism, together with her family, carries on this beautiful project, which in its name remembers her beloved grandfather. Besides the very good wines, we brought home a fragment of the history of this wonderful family, of their origins and their great commitment.
