Tenuta Rasocolmo
About the Winery
After 15 years of experience in marketing and communication, Francesco Giostra Reitano returned to Sicily in 2004 to revive the family’s winemaking legacy. Alongside a group of passionate young entrepreneurs and farmers, Francesco renewed the tradition of the ancient family estate by planting DOC Faro vineyards and restoring the old family farmhouse and olive groves, some with trees over a century old. Nestled in a stunning location overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Aeolian Islands, the estate has become a symbol of Messina's rich winemaking heritage. Today, the winery proudly produces Faro wines using natural farming methods, offering a genuine taste of Sicily’s ancient wine traditions. Visitors are invited to experience this passion firsthand, especially during harvest time, where food, wine, and the celebration of the land come together.
About the Wines
At our estate, we produce the prestigious DOC Faro wine, a red blend that reflects the unique terroir of Messina. Our flagship Faro "Rasocolmo" is crafted from a blend of Nerello Mascalese, Nocera, Nerello Cappuccio, Nero d'Avola, and Sangiovese, aged exclusively in steel to preserve its pure, natural flavors. The result is a wine of elegance and complexity, capturing the essence of the land and the sea. We also produce a white wine made from Inzolia grapes sourced from Castiglione di Sicilia, on the slopes of Mount Etna, offering a fresh and vibrant expression of the region. Our commitment to natural farming and minimal intervention ensures that every bottle is a true reflection of Sicily’s history, climate, and spirit.

Great day in Messina
A lovely surprise
Good, but…
However, on the Winedering site, the info wasn't correct. The excursion time indicated 9 a.m. and, once we arrived, the tour only started at 11:30 a.m. So we waited for 2 hours.
Fortunately, our hosts took care of us.
So, for my part, you should book directly with the winery.
