VINYES DELS ASPRES
(Winery in Empordà)

Provides 1 wine tasting and winery visit from €20.00
Vinyes dels Aspres winery is situated in the rugged and dry region of Cantallops, the northernmost inland town of Alt Empordà, near the Albera massif. The vineyards, owned by the family for generations, thrive on granite and slate soils, conditions that significantly contribute to the quality of the grapes. The region's terrain and the north wind influence the performance of the vines notably. The winery is housed in Can Batlle, a manor house dating back to the 17th century, where wine, oil, and cork production were once integral activities. In the mid-20th century, these practices ceased, with only vine cultivation continuing. However, in the late 1990s, the heirs restored the cellar and resumed winemaking, blending tradition with modern techniques to meet current standards. Vinyes dels Aspres is committed to environmental preservation, avoiding the use of aggressive synthetic products in both vineyard management and wine conservation. All the grapes used in production come exclusively from the estate, allowing for complete control from vine to glass. The winery focuses on traditional grape varieties that best reflect the unique character of the region, using time-honored methods, carefully selected wood for aging, and attention to detail at every stage, from pressing to bottling. Producing just 100,000 bottles per vintage, the wines are carefully crafted, capturing the essence of the land and the landscape in each bottle, blending authenticity with modern sensibility.
