5 Incredible experience, beautiful views, delicious wine, friendly service & we got a private tour ! (Jodi)We loved our time at Castello Sonnino! The wine tasting was sooo good - the wines were delicious and the servings were generous. We also got served lovely bruschetta - with their own olive oil and toppings - which were unexpected. The outside area is STUNNING and I recommend sitting out there. When we arrived it was only set up for us and one other table so we had a very calm, private, and special experience. Our server's knowledge and passion for their wines was obvious, and we felt very taken care of. Our wine tasting included a tour of the cellars and we we super lucky as we were the only booking - so we went on a private tour and got to learn so much about the history of the property (like centuries of history!!). Really enjoyed this place. The view was such a shift from being in Florence (where we came from). We also took a bus which was only around an hour long and a short walk from the location. Highly recommend this hidden gem for anyone wanting a Tuscan wine experience and to see something different than the city. This day is one of our most loved memories from our trip.

5 Great experience and kind guides! (Gordan)The wine tour and tasting was really interesting, listening to rich family history and seeing where the wine is produced. We loved it! The ambient is perfect Tuscany view, old village house, the food and drinks are extremely tasty and homemade, we enjoyed every second of it! Had a time to relax and enjoy the nature, to take pictures, to taste everything they offered and would definitely reccomand!

5 Good People and Even Better Wine (Deborah)The place is beautiful and the guide is very prepared, and passionate about his job. Had the gourmet experience and it was completely worth it. We bought a couple bottles as well. If you love red wine, the San Leone is the best. They were also very quick at answering emails, which is always a plus

5 Wonderful wine experience (Ginette)We were staying in Montespertoli and chose to prebook our tour at this vineyard after reading previous reviews. Alessandro gave a us a tour of the small family vineyard with its olive trees and vines, and then we went in for a beautiful lunch of local cold meats, pecorrino cheese and bruschetta, all accompanied by the full range of wine and oil tastings. We met the whole family during our long lunch, the wine explanations were really detailed, and the tastings generous. A special treat was the homemade biscotti with our dessert wine. All around a super personal experience which was the highlight of our trip to the region.

5 Amazing and Memorable Experience (Norhan)We had such an amazing experience at the Castle Sonnino wine tasting. We opted for the Tasting and Lunch option, which gave us a fantastic selection of local foods and an (very filling) lunch, accompanied with some gorgeous wines (we 1 white, 2 reds and a dessert wine), and our sommelier Edouardo was so helpful and answered all our questions regarding the wine. Our lunch was followed by a tour, where we got to see the beautiful view of the vineyards and were taken around the cellars where we were informed about all the wines in production there and the history. This was an incredible value for money and would definitely recommend. We had such a great time, and we wanted to thank the Sonnino family and Edouardo for making the experience!

3 Excellent guide! (Moa)This wine-tasting was a bit different from other tastings. We had one glass at a time and no chance of going back to the others for comparison. The food was good. The guide took us for a quick tour which was very interesting and informative. Thank you for a nice visit. Why did I give the tasting only three out of five? We couldn’t compare with prior tasted wines and the glasses needed a better wash. (We had to change some before the tasting). Thank you

5 Under the Tuscan sun (Spring)Conveniently located just outside Montespertoli. We were offered indoor or outdoor seating. Our table was in a shaded area of a lovely yard. Alesso served us bread, cheese, and meat paired with wines. The food brought out the characteristics of the wines. It was a peaceful, unrushed experience. The white, rose, and red wines are bounisimo. The tour of the vineyard and the winery brought us new information about winemakers. The price per person is reasonable for the service provided.

5 Authentic and a must-visit! (sara)I thank whoever gifted me this beautiful experience! Wine tasting, a visit to the vinsantaia, to the cellar, one of the most beautiful and historic I have ever seen, finally a tour with the owner inside the castle, a true spectacle the archive and library with peace treaties and documents from the First World War from Minister Sonnino!! Everything was very beautiful, interesting and above all authentic... I recommend it with pleasure!!!

5 Wine Tasting and Oil Tasting (Benedetta)The estate looks very nice outside and inside, we booked a wine and oil tasting (as a couple). It's an interesting and different experience to have, lasting just the right amount of time, with explanations adapted to the people participating. 3 So-so (Elisabetta)I'll start by saying that the lady leading the tour was very kind and helpful, but I expected more from this experience. The description states an experience duration of about 1 and a half hours, but in reality, alas, in 35 minutes we had already finished the tour and the tasting. I wanted to try the gourmet experience which, in addition to the wine tasting, included local products such as local cheeses, honey, and cured meats, but we were only served a plate of crostini. That's fine too, we certainly weren't there to have lunch but to do a tasting, I'm just pointing it out because the description of the experience said something completely different. I can't say anything about the wine, it was excellent and there's a lot of work behind it to make it so.

4 Saturday, April 12 (MASSIMILIANO)Excellent welcome, detailed tour of the cellars, clear and excellent explanation, also in response to questions. The tasting was more than positive, accompanied by a clear explanation of the type of wine and its characteristics. The food pairing disappointed me slightly for 2 reasons: the quantity was a bit scarce and the pairing with the rosé wine (in my opinion, for how full-bodied that type of wine is, it deserved a pairing with stronger and more decisive flavors: aged cheeses, meat-based crostini, etc.).

3 Disappointing (Marta)I booked this winery because it offered a tour in Spanish and it turns out that when we arrived, they told us the guide was sick. I think they could have let us know, even if it was on the same day. The winery is tiny, you barely see much and, on top of that, the tour was in Italian. The wine tasting was meager and, of course, without much explanation because they didn't speak Spanish.

5 A beautiful experience (Anna)We spent a pleasant afternoon at Tenuta Barbadoro. Alessio welcomed us and prepared a table for us in the garden, stunning, with a breathtaking view of the Tuscan countryside. The wines we tasted are exceptional, all organic, with intense and defined flavors. Alessio told us about each wine, making a few small mentions of the family history. The Estate is in fact family-run and everyone was super kind and welcoming to us. I recommend it!

4 A magical place in the heart of Chianti (DANILO)Delightful place. Right away at reception, welcomed with a great sense of family, where we were immediately offered a welcome rosé. The cellar, very simple, is well-kept and well-maintained and our guide was very good at narrating the life of the wine at that company. The tasting with 5 types of wine was excellent. Recommended.
