3 Wine tasting with a crowd (Patricia)The pros: the woman leading the tasting was friendly and knowledgeable about the wine and winery. The winery was beautiful and in a nice setting. The cons: a very large group ( 15-20 people) joined our group of 4. They were 20 minutes late so we had to wait for them. A few minutes late is ok, beyond that the tour/ tasting should have started without them. Once we arrived at the tasting room, they brought in 5 plates with cheese, meats and olives to share among the group. Toothpicks were provided so no one needed to touch the food directly. The large group ignored the toothpicks and grabbed everything with their hands. With the flu and covid still active, not a smart thing to do. My biggest objection was how the tasting was handled. It was more like a social hour at a bar. The woman running the tour walked around with the wine and poured the tastings to individual groups that were talking . Unfortunately when the group asked a question, no one else could hear the question so we couldn’t benefit from the conversation that they were having. After 3-5 minutes she would move on to the next group. Same thing happened, questions were asked which she answered to that group. None of the other participants in the tasting could hear the questions or answers. Finally after waiting for about 10 minutes she would talk to our group, pour the wine and spend a few minutes with us. This routine would start all over with the next wine. I don’t think that we, as a group of 4 received more than 10 minutes of her time or knowledge about Portugal wine. Considering the cost of the tour, I expected more interaction and information. At the end of the tour, nothing was mentioned about buying any wine before we left so we left without any purchases. Pretty disappointed in the tour. I could have learned as much or more at a wine store for a whole lot less money.

5 Mainova: a wine fresco (Eric)it was a nice experience, finding the place protected by camera and steel doors ... leading to a warming and personalized welcome by Pedro as we were, with my wife the only visitors, therefore it was a private appointment in the wine estate under an August burning sun! giant fresco and fine pieces of decoration in the cellar show the refine taste of the 'mas nova' daughter who is the creator of this 'terroir'

5 Great experience (Liz)I highly recommend this experience if you are in the area. It’s a beautiful venue with great wine. We booked to have a picnic with our tour. The food and wine were delicious and enjoyed by all. We went with our sons who loved running around and exploring in the cool shaded woods where we had our picnic. We had a really lovely afternoon!

5 Amazing experience! (Valentina)The woman who welcomed us took us on a very nice winery tour, explained the history of the cellar and specifically the tradition of vinho da talha. It was very interesting and informative not only on the wine tradition but also on other food, drinks and cultural traditions of Alentejo. The passion and the knowledge she shared made the experience even more special. The wine tasting was superb, the quality of the wines and local products was outstanding.

5 A fun tour of the winery and (almost bottomless) tasting (Kee)The entire staff of the tasting room was very friendly and extended great hospitality to us. The tour and tasting lead Miguel was very knowledgeable. He explained in detail the steps to make wine from harvest to bottling in the winery. The information on the corks used in different grades of wines was an eye opener. The highlight was of course the tasting. We tasted more than half dozen of It was accompanied with local bread, sausage, goat cheese, and pumpkin jam. There were other tasting groups that came during our tasting session, and Miguel effortlessly entertained everybody! Dioynsus would have Miguel be his PR manager.!

5 Wine maker for a day (Ivo)We were at Ervideira for a tour called “winemaker for a day” yesterday. The tour was conducted by Miguel, and what a tour it was, indeed. We started with an explanation of the purpose and what was going to happen - after that, we got to taste the different varieties of grapes we were going to use for our own blend. All in a very accessible, straightforward way giving us all the tools needed. Miguel is very knowledgeable, easily accessible and has a kind personality, making him nice to work with - in short, a real asset for this kind of tours (and to his employer) The tour itself was really fun to do, and we also learned a lot about mixing grapes into a blend that works for YOU. All in all, a fun way to spend your (in our case) afternoon! After the tour, we had a tasting for the Ervideira wines, paired with some foods to conclude the afternoon. Would definetely recommend!

5 Amazing wine experience with kids (Daniel)The picknick at Herade Canal Caveira was like a dream. In between the vineyards and beautiful trees they prepared a convenient place for a picknick. The kids enjoyed chips and playing around, we enjoyed delicious food and wine. For us an incredible experience to taste good wine and have a nice time with our small (2 and 4) kids.

5 An authentic experience in the heart of the Alentejo: impeccable hospitality (Benedetta)We visited the Cella Vinaria Antiqua winery of Honrado Vineyards and the experience was fantastic. The place is full of historical charm, perfect for discovering the tradition of Vinho de Talha. The girl who accompanied us during the tasting was extremely kind, lovely and above all very clear in illustrating the history of the winery, the winemaking processes and the peculiarities of the wines. Her passion and preparation made the visit even more pleasant and engaging.

1 Rather disappointing (Catherine)We booked the day before; they should have refused due to the "short notice". We wanted a tour in English, but no one spoke it. So, no tour was included. The picnic was really basic: a cold meat sandwich, 4 plums, a small tart and crisps… We were expecting something more local than supermarket crisps. The wine was good, but it was ChatGPT that had to answer all our questions about it and about the estate. We were enthusiastic about the idea of doing a cellar/vineyard tour, adding the charm of a picnic. In the end, it's a very high price to pay for just drinking a white wine at a vineyard.
