5 Intimate, entertaining and exceptional wine! (Tanya)We liloved our experience despite the very high temperatures! Our guide (I forget his name) was so funny and entertaining and was able to tell us all kinds of information about the area and agricultural issues the country is having. The wine was crisp, fresh and definitely worth the detour! our guide was so nice to our daughters, giving them snacks and slushies and sparkling water. We definitely recommend it!

5 Phenomenal wine, magical building, wonderful people - five stars isn't enough (Jacob)The absolute highlight of our entire trip hands down - and we did a lot during our week in the Black Forest. This was our favourite by a mile. From the moment we arrived, Sara and Rainer made us feel completely welcome, and what followed was an experience we'll remember for a very long time. Rainer conducted the tasting, and he is something special: an extraordinarily talented wine historian with a sharp comedic wit and a deep, wide-ranging knowledge of German history and the stories of the local area. He brings the wine to life, unlike any other tasting we've done before, weaving history, humour and place into every glass. We could have listened to him all day. And the wine itself is phenomenal. Genuinely the best we've tasted, and remarkably reasonably priced given how good it is - extraordinary value for the quality in the glass. We also opted to try their vinegar and some of Rainer's warming and wonderful whisky, which we can't recommend highly enough. Every single thing we tasted was a delight. Beyond the wine, Sara and Rainer are simply very special, one of a kind people - warm, generous, endlessly kind and hugely knowledgeable. The building itself is beautiful, the crown jewel of Gernsbach, with a spiritual, magical quality to it that makes the whole experience feel even more memorable. If you're anywhere near the Baden-Baden area, this is the best wine tasting hands down. You will not regret it. We're already planning to come back - next time with a much bigger suitcase so we can take home even more of this wonderful wine. Thank you, Sara and Rainer, for an unforgettable afternoon.

5 Great experience! (Siobhan)Our hosts Sara and Rainer were so welcoming and made this an experience to remember. We chose the 7 wine experience with cheese and meat board. Rainer took his time to explain every wine along with history of the region and the country. We were also treated to a tasting of their gin, vodka and vinegar. Truly a unique experience that we will never forget.

5 Unique and Historical tasting (Tiffany)A wine tasting at Inselin was a fun Sunday activity for us and our friends! The wines were poured generously and Rainier had so many wonderful stories about his experience establishing his winery. We spent several hours inside the historical City Hall building, built in 1611, and the tasting was held in the cellar with high cathedral vaulted ceilings. You feel like you’re stepping into history and can imagine how many others over the century have shared a bottle and meal there! Along the walls is some beautiful landscape paintings that are enchanting and add to the idyllic atmosphere of Gernsbach. The wines were unique. Admittedly, I’m not much of a Riesling fan, but I have been converted! Several different Pinots, some sweet and others dry, it was great to taste and see the difference juxtaposed in glassware. We walked away with several bottles as well as sparkling wine as a generous surprise! The charcuterie was plentiful and the cheese selection could be a bit more varied, but you’re there for the wines so that’s a minor observation, Overall, an engaging wonderful way to spend the afternoon with friends to learn more about wine from a historical wine region with someone who is passionate about wine about his craft.

5 A great experience (Oliver)Our wine tasting at Alte Grafschaft was an all-around great experience. We were told everything and more about making good wine. Our guide really never rushed anything, but gave us a very competent and personal tour of the ancient Alte Grafschaft premises with all the interesting historical information connected to it. The tasting itself was very versatile and authentic. We could try some great white and red wines from some of the best vineyards of the area. So, all in all, I can really recommend this experience for being such an authentic, unique, and not overly commercialized venue. Thumbs up and cheers! Oliver & Mathilde

5 Wine Tasting (Marion)There were just five of us. After a good snack and a bottle of wine, our actual tasting began. The host sweetened our evening with 5 wines, 2 small schnapps, a drinkable vinegar, and with great stories about viticulture, wine, many stories about Gernsbach and the old town hall. It was a great time, and we laughed a lot.

5 A First-Class Cellar Tour and Wine Tasting! (Georg)Absolutely top-notch! All our expectations were exceeded! We were very warmly received and greeted at the sales counter. Mr. Rieß, the cellar master, led us through the entire production with exceptional competence, patience, and calmness, and left none of our questions unanswered. In between, there was also a nice "surprise" in the form of wine samples. The tour through the several production halls and cellars was very impressive and enriching. At the end, we were allowed to try one or another type of wine and chat with the very nice staff. As a farewell gift, everyone received a bottle of wine! Since certain types of wine particularly impressed our palates, we also took a few bottles with us (bought without any pressure!) A great establishment, which we will definitely visit again!

5 Seven wines, a thousand stories: a tasting to remember (Nadia)We had a wonderful wine tasting experience. We tried seven fantastic organic wines, paired with local cheeses and cured meats. We spent a long, fascinating time chatting with Rainer, who introduced us to his wines and shared his personal story. The atmosphere was so warm and inviting, set in a beautiful historic building and surrounded by an art exhibition that made the space even more special. Sara, his wife, was also incredibly kind and welcoming. It was an amazing experience — one we’d happily repeat without a doubt.
