She had such knowledge about the history, the wines, the distribution and just an overall good hostess. We even had a little extra guest, Umbra the family’s dog who followed us around too through the site. The grounds were beautiful and it was so nice and peaceful being there. You had such a great view of Orvieto from the main house and the wines were amazing. We kept comparing every wine we had after that day, back to this one. The food pairings were amazing too! 5 A magical place. A most memorable experience. (Erika)When we booked a tasting tour with Madonna del Latte through Winedering, we found exactly the fine artistry, tradition and innovation we had come to Tuscany/Umbria to experience. From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Ruta and their youngest child in arms, we felt welcome. As she gently ushered us to the terrace where a graciously laid table awaited us under an elegantly rustic pavilion, we were immediately at ease and in awe of the beauty of the vineyard stretching out in all directions. The tour began when Leon appeared and shared the origins of the vineyard, effortlessly in both English and German. He was simultaneously informative and charming as he told his story and spoke about the land, the soil, the types of grapes and how the vineyard evolved. The family’s dedication to both stewarding the land responsibly and producing unique wines of the highest quality was evident in the way he spoke so knowledgeably about the science and artistry of their operation. We learned how Madonna del Latte is invested in both the local wisdom of generations and ecologically sound practices for cultivating the land, as well as the most sophisticated technology for processing and bottling the wine. After passing through the fields and the fascinating fermentation cellars and other rooms, we returned to the terrace table to taste the curated selection of exquisite, prize-winning wines. The ambience could not have been more enjoyable as we sipped the absolutely delicious vintages and admired the countryside. It was a truly memorable experience. Leon and Ruta have created a very special place that is bound to delight and endure for generations to come.

5 Delightful Experience (Jamie)We chose the winery tour, and wine tasting with "light lunch." The setting is idyllic and the service and responses to questions were wonderful. We were very impressed with the quality and affordability of the wines; the pairings highlighted them nicely. The food was really top notch, but we were served more courses than we expected (not that we're complaining). My tip to anyone who chooses this experience: "Have a light breakfast!"

5 A beautiful day at Castello di Montegiove (Chris)I would recommend this to anyone. It’s a beautiful place and Lorenzo was a lovely guy who clearly loves his wine and he has a right to, the wine was fabulous particularly the Elicius which tasted more like a €50 bottle of wine than the €22 he was charging! I will be putting in an order for a couple of cases soon!!

5 Fantastic Experience (Adam)After visiting 6 years ago for my parents 50th wedding anniversary, my family of four returned bringing my wife’s two sisters and their families. We enjoyed it so much we wanted to share it with others. Our group of 18 (with two toddlers) was accommodated easily. The wine, the vineyard, the food, the location and the people were all amazing. The booking process with easy even with our group exceeding the limits on the site. The proximity to Orvietoade made a post vineyard trip to sight see easy.

Great selection of cheese and hams.. Truly luxury time! The scenery from there was also great. We reccomend Tenuta le velette.

5 Wijnproeverij op een prachtige locatie (Ivano)We werden vriendelijk onthaald. We kregen eerst een kleine rondleiding met uitleg vanaf de wijngaarden tot het proces. Vervolgens zaten we aan een tafel met een prachtig uitzicht op het domein om 4 wijnen te proeven samen met allerhande bijpassende, Italiaanse gerechtjes.

5 Tasting with friends (Chiara)I was welcomed at the Santo Iolo cellars with my friends by beautiful sunshine and a girl who welcomed us and told us the history of the winery. We tasted 4 very good wines (each of us bought at least one bottle) accompanied by some platters of local products. Very intimate and well-kept atmosphere. I highly recommend it if you want to spend a day away from the noise of the city in good company!

The visit to the 2 wineries was wonderful, being able to appreciate the 360-degree creation of the nectar of the gods in a splendid, evocative panorama was enlightening. Not to mention the welcome from the splendid hostess and all the staff who made us feel pampered and at home. The tasting of both the wines and the paired food was one of the best ever experienced, with the company of some cute kittens too. Everything perfect!!! Everything taken care of down to the smallest detail and what can I say, I can't wait to go back!
