5 Magical & wonderful. (Perry)My wife and I went on our trip to the Minardi Vineyard + pasta making‘masterclass’, towards the end of our 8 day visit to Rome. I mentioned this to put into context how magical it was to arrive at the Vineyard, and having left the hustle and bustle and pollution of Rome to a place peace and tranquility. The warmth of our welcome was thankfully matched by a sunny day. Nico, our chauffeur, translator, tour guide etc, was an outstanding young man who set the tone for the whole visit, and Anna-Marie who taught the masterclass was very informative and delightful. I believe everyone on the visit had an incredible time, aided of course by some great wine and a wonderful lunch with tremendous atmosphere and local music. We left feeling refreshed, mentally, emotionally and physically, if a little ’heady’, and a little regretful that we were returning to the ‘motorised’, bustling city. Most highly recommend and our sincerest thanks to Nico, Anna-Marie and of course Umberto for producing beautiful wines and maintaining the delightful Minardi vineyard.

5 Great vineyard experience Close to Rome (Saba)Wonderful afternoon out from Rome without having to go far! A great way to experience the Frascati region. We were greeted by our host, Sara who treated us to tour. Starting in the vineyard, through the winery and finally for a great tasting session in the cellars! Excellent hospitality! Great wine and super salami and cheese to go along. The tour was a private tour, was around 2.5 hours and Sara was wonderful. Highly recommended.

5 Excellent value for money! Brilliant activity to share with friends and family. Amazing Hosts! (Amanda)What a lovely day we had making pasta with an amazing Italian chef. The excellent Nicolo hosted us for the day and translated everything. His knowledge of the wine making process, the olive harvest and the surrounding area was superb. We were even serenaded whilst we ate our pasta lunch by Alfredo who owns the farm. He’s a very musical man! We arrived at 10.30 and didn’t leave until nearly 4pm. They all seemed to thoroughly enjoy sharing their beautiful place with us. Worth every penny

5 Perfect! (Isabelle)I spent 5 hours in this beautiful place, the chef was so great and gave us many tips! The guide was amazing, very caring and funny! In the end we bought wine and jam, they were so delicious. We had such a blast! The city is also beautiful, very charming, definitely worth it!

5 Perfect pairing (Kimberly)The whole experience from the time you walk in and are greeted to the end of purchasing products was amazing. This was our first time ever doing a wine tasting anywhere. They explained everything; the process, the bottling and why it pairs with different foods. The fresh jams, meats and vegetables are sooo good. There was no pressure to purchase anything at the end. Very clean, comfortable and easy to get to. The whole family is amazing. To watch the locals come in one after another to get wine says a lot about the winery.

It was my daughters’ first experience of a tour and tasting and they both said how much they enjoyed it and had learned something too.

5 Winery and Pasta!! (Elizabeth )Absolutely loved Minardi winery! Transportation was very easy, and the hosts were fantastic. Paola was very fun to be around and helped us alongside the chef to create 3 different types of pasta. The meal we had with our homemade pasta was one of our favorites of our whole trip! The winery is small, and family owned, and you can tell in their product. We enjoyed the wine while Alfredo played guitar looking over the vineyard. 10/10!!

4 Amazing wine tasting! (Fabrizio)The winery is a beautiful location next to lake bracciano. We did the evening wine tasting experience which was accompanied by some lovely local produce including cheese, bread, salami and their own olive oil which was so tasty! The staff were so friendly and although we arrived late they still managed to accommodate us and we were lucky enough to even have a private tour! Would highly recommend!

5 Wonderful Harvest Experience at Casale Mattia (Joshua)We had a group of 4 for the harvest experience and had a wonderful time. We started with some transportation issues from Rome but luckily for us the hosts went out of their way to ensure that we arrived in time before the harvest was finished for the day. After a short walk through the beautiful vineyard we were able to participate in the harvesting. We were then given a full tour of the production facility where everything was explained in detail. We got to watch the grapes being processed and sample the must which was tasty on it's own. Then we sat down for the wine tasting which included two wines ("Romos" DOC Roma Bianco and "rrampazzu" Shiraz IGT Rosso) with a nice spread to accompany it (bruschetta, meat, cheese, etc). Overall a great experience and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an easy day trip from Rome.

The people gave us a short tour of the grounds and production facilities then served us great wines paired with local cheeses and meats. Everyone was super nice and quick to answer our questions. 5 Lovely evening (Eleanor)The winery location absolutely beautiful, overlooking Bracciano lake. Our guide was lovely and although she admitted to not usually 'running the tasting sessions', she was informative regarding the vineyard, the machinery and the wines. We were able to choose from a variety of wines following a detailed description. We opted for the sparkling white, a white and a red. The food was complimented by a large amount of charcutterie, which was divine. All 16 of us were left to enjoy ourselves whilst at the table along with leaflets containing more information. We were able to chat amongst ourselves and it felt very laid back.

5 A truly wonderful experience (Jackson)We found this was a very convenient tour before booking. Less than a 30 minute train ride from Roma Termini and then a short walk (10 minutes) makes it very convenient for most. The tour was wonderful, as we were able to ask many questions and understand the full process of the vineyard. After the tour, we had a seemingly never ending stream of delicious dishes that paired well with the wine. The wines were all excellent and were explained well by the hosts. They were very welcoming and kind people who truly care about their craft, and speak great English. HIGHLY recommend to anyone looking for a half-day trip to a vineyard from Rome!

5 Perfect Roman Afternoon (Justin)My girlfriend and I booked this winery visit towards the end of our most recent Roman vacation. We normally go to a winery or two when we are in Italy so we wanted to do something after experiencing some local wines at a dinner we had at a very well-known restaurant that works with a lot of small local wineries. Upon making the booking Giulia called me to see if we were able to come a little earlier than we had booked. We did as we had built a day like this into our schedule. And we couldn't have been happier we did. We arrived via Uber to the winery and we were greeted by a very cheery Giulia and a gorgeous and very friendly Achille (her dog). This place a must-do if you are looking for a day trip out of Rome. Its very close to the cute city of Frascati (also a great place to stop in). Merumalia is not only a beautiful winery, but a gorgeous resort, with some amazing picturesque views of the surrounding areas. Giulia is amazing. She is so lovely and such a great host. If you are super into wines, especially organic natural wines, she is an encyclopedia of information. We learned so much and came away with such a new appreciation for what these farmers and winemakers do. The wines were amazing. This area is more known for its whites, and they did not disappoint. They also make a delicious dessert wine and a tasty grappa. She brought out some local meats and cheeses and paired them with olive oil they also make on the grounds. 5 A picture perfect experience (Ortensia)While I was planning my trip to Italy, I knew I wanted to try out a wine tasting experience. I did a little research and came across azienda bio De Sanctis. Honestly I had no expectations. I wanted to do something fun with my boyfriend. This turned out to be the most beautiful, informative experience. Flavia greeted us and even though we were 20 mins late she was very accommodating. She walked us through the property, Her English is perfect. The tour took a good 35 mins. She was very thoral and answered all our questions. When the tour was over, she took us to a beautiful living space where we sampled the wines while pairing them with specific foods. It was an experience I will never forget and I'm sure will be hard to beat. Thank you

5 Worth while experience (Nathan)I myself am not a wine drinker but went for my friend. The views, and the walking tour of the wine facility was amazing, very informative. Matteo was a superb host even as the had both English and Italian and had to say things twice. The wine tasting was soo good even though I don’t normally drink wine, it’s nothing like you buy at the super market. And the selection of nibbles for the wine was great too. We even bought a couple of bottles to have that night. For the cost it is a worth every penny!

The tasting experience was significantly elevated by the charcuterie board which consisted of cheeses and meats traditional of the Lazio region. The wine was very good and also the cheese boards that came whit it , the staff is polite and explains every steps of their wine making process whit passion ! The tour in the wineyard was super cute, there is a wonderful view of Lake Bracciano .Personally the only bad note was the cloudy weather I suggested to go visit in summer!!!!

5 Lovely Experience (Morena)Fantastic experience! Very well-deserved five stars for Casale Mattia. We did a tour with a tasting lasting a couple of hours and everything was perfect. Extremely well-kept winery and vineyards, and the staff and owners Roberto and Lucia were delightful and prepared with passion. The organic wines are exceptional and the accompanying bites (platter of local traditional products) were fresh and flavorful. The perfect combination for a relaxing half-day. A place to unplug for a couple of hours just a few kilometers from Rome. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Afterwards, wines were introduced to us and we were told what the special features are. To match this, food was served which was always perfectly coordinated with the wine. For me, this was an absolute highlight of my vacation.
