5 Amazing experience (Emily)From the moment we arrived at il Poggio, we were greeted by Francesca Poggio and her daughter Giorgia and it just got better by the minute. The two plus their wine maker were well spoken and extremely knowledgeable and it was very clear to see that they love what they do! Their wines were wonderful and as was the food. We had an enjoyable afternoon sitting amongst the vines. I would seriously recommend Il Poggio to anyone who loves Gavi wine.

5 Superb tour and tasting (Henry)We were the only couple on this tour with Giada (and Jack the dog). Had a very enjoyable time, learning about La Raia’s production processes and principles, followed by tasting and snacks to go with. A lovely setting too. Would highly recommend.

5 A visit to Il Vino e Le Rose in the Hills of Tortona. (Pete)At the end of narrow winding road some 20 Km form Tortona you arrive a large mechanical gates that are the memory of the previous plans the owner had for the estate before other plans meant that the property and winery was allowed to to become over run. Il Vino e Le Rose is its resurrection lead by Massimiliano and his team. They are fulfilling the dream of producing high quality natural wines from reinvigorated local vine species particularly Timorasso and Cortesa. .We were impressed with their passion and the quality of their wines. They truly reflect the special soils of their hilltop.. We really enjoyed our visit it was unique.

Great variety in the tastes, and lovely cheese and sausage to go with it ☺️ we bought a couple of cases because we really enjoyed the wine! And the location was to die for - both the cellar tasting room, the view from the castle deck over the vines, and the tour of the cellars. You can stay there as well - wish we had! Also large quantities of wine - so was a bit sad that we had to drive from there

5 So lovly winery tour experience! (Amanda)We love to visit a wineries and compare them. Castello Di Grillano is our one of the favorite places where we been. The owner is at a respectable age, but he speaks very well english and we felt very welcome. In degustation we got 7 or more wines and table was full with local cheese and other snacks. I was not ashamed to ask all my silly questions, which the owner kindly answered. We loved the atmosphere and the wines so much that we even bought them as gifts to take home.

5 International wine estate with a long tradition (May)Very surprised and honoured to be guided by the President to see the vineyards and the cellar. The wine estate has a long history and traditions of wine making. It is a little community by itself with a church, lemon house, villa and pool. The President was very nice and knowledgeable, he explained everything with a passion about wine and the family history. We tasted 4 different wine and try the platter too; we love them all.

5 Wonderful afternoon at La Raia (Rowena)This was an experience as you have imagined. First a very warm welcome at the vineyard with a very knowledgeable tour. We learned a lot about organic and biodynamics and how this is being applied ar the vineyard. La Raia has a small production area so don’t expect a full production process and cellars of wine bottles. It is a specialized factory with eyes for details. After the tour we had a tasting where we again learned about the vineyard, the grapes and the wines. The lunch is at an other location, you drive there with your own car. An ideal spot for a lovely lunch. A very well spend afternoon. Highly recommended.

5 Experience in the Tortona hills (fabio)A wonderful experience among the Tortona hills, where we were able to taste excellent local wines like Derthona Timorasso and savor typical products such as the Salame Nobile del Giarolo, a Slow Food presidium, and the local Montebore cheese, in addition to other cured meats of their own production. Very kind is Alice the owner, whom we thank for the welcoming hospitality, it is worth visiting this corner of Piedmont and Cascina Giambolino in particular for the quality of the products, we will return.

2 Everything was wonderful, but the tasting needs improvement (Federica)The place is magnificent and the welcome truly kind. The tour of the Infernot was very interesting and well explained. Since it was hot, we had the tasting in the beautiful garden which has a splendid view. Unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed by the tasting: - A single explanation of all the wines is given at the beginning without even stating their names; I had to ask for them one by one while they were pouring to know which bottle we were tasting. - I had the feeling they didn't let us taste their best wines, and that's a shame. - The cold cuts and cheese board wasn't explained either; I don't know what cheeses and cured meats I ate, nor which glass it would have been better to pair with what. - To find my bearings, I asked for a brochure because there wasn't one at my table, but they didn't have any more available and a very kind guy got me one from the only empty table, but it was all stained with I don't know what. I made use of it anyway; having no other explanations about the products, at least it was useful to find my bearings. - For the first time in my life, I left a tasting without buying even a single bottle because if you don't explain your wine with soul, if you don't tell a story: either you put something amazing in the glass, or it's hard to make people fall in love with your product. Too bad, it was half a disappointment, but I find these are all points that with effort and willpower can be improved. And I hope so because the potential is enormous!

The reception was already very warm and the tour truly interesting and informative. You can feel that everyone here is involved with love and passion and the entire atmosphere was correspondingly pleasant and welcoming. The wines and Piedmontese delicacies were simply excellent. We can recommend the winery and the tasting without reservation and will certainly visit Marenco again and again.

5 A wonderful day with a lot of interesting info about wine (Katrin)We were welcomed very warmly, and our visit started with a lot of interesting information about winemaking in the region and a bit of wine history. We were shown through the wine cellar, and our many questions were answered patiently. Afterwards, we got to sample four delicious wines, while the children were served pineapple juice. This was accompanied by equally delicious bite-sized regional specialties, so we were actually already full! After that, we drove a short way up the vineyard to a gorgeous estate, where we were allowed to pick a spot for our picnic. We chose an open stone building with a wonderful view over the vineyards. The picnic itself also consisted of very tasty regional specialties, and there was something for everyone. However, we decided to take the bottle of wine home with us instead – it was quite warm and we still had to drive. We also really enjoyed the peace and quiet during the picnic. At no point was there any rush whatsoever. It was a wonderful experience that we can highly recommend to anyone interested in wine and regional specialties.

The lady was very nice, she explained the entire winemaking process and guided us through the vineyards. We had the opportunity to taste 6 different wines paired with food. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the region.
