5 Outstanding! Far exceeded our expectations. So fun. (Pat)Top to bottom the best day of our Tuscan holiday. The truffle hunt with dogs Lola and Leah on the Tuscan hillside was an exhilarating if a bit of challenging walk back up the hill.; worth it to watch the the dogs happy in their successful endeavors to find truffles for us. Our guides were knowledgeable teaching us about the dog training process and the symbiotic relationship between the trees and the truffles. Our wine lunch was relaxed and delicious served by the 7th generation family members as they educated us on the wines as well as the dishes were enjoying - 4 courses! Seated in the yard we had view of not just the vineyard but the harvesting was in full swing. What a treat. We tasted the ripened grapes, watched tractor truckloads of grapes delivered to the equipment that separated the grapes from the stems. Amazing. Part of what made this experience great was the quality of the people hosting us. Lovely! Ordered lots of wine to be shipped home. Thank you.

5 Wine Tasting Beyond Expectations (Tom & Yvonne)Andrea is a wonderful host. He gave us a tour of his wine facility and talked about wine making of all the various type wines. That was followed by a wine tasting of truly the best wines in his gorgeous Tuscan home..The 5 wines tasted were each accompanied with a platter of foods prepared by his very friendly mother. All platters were delicious not to mention how wonderful the wines were. The best Nobiles we tasted in the entire region. The pours were large and it seemed our glasses were continually refilled. Andrea had great personal stories of wine making.. we are very much part of family now. I highly recommend Luteraia Cantina if you want a true Tuscan experience.

Her ability to explain the process of creating and making wine from harvesting the grapes through fermentation and then bottling was amazing. She was patient, answered every question and then provided detailed information on what foods went best with 5 different varieties of wine. Both the wine food were excellent and the vineyard was beautiful. An exceptional experience.

The flow of the tour was perfect - he was funny, informative, and kept everything lively! The wine was AMAZING. I ended up shipping 6 bottles home to the US and couldn’t help buying up the olive oil. Dining inside the castle walls was quite the experience! One of my sister and my favorite parts of our trip to Italy.

5 Charming experience! (Katie)We LOVED our time at Santa Giulia! We arrived and got a quick tour of the cellar. After, we sat inside and received a detailed explanation of each wine we tried. The food we were served was the best meal of our two week trip to Italy. Fresh salads, breads, meats & cheeses all prepared here. The pasta dish was comforting and so tasty. Everyone was kind and we met some other travelers at the next table who were so fun. We loved this experience and had much fun hanging out here for the day- beautiful winery!

2 Less than optimal (Jeffrey)The winery provided 7 wines to taste (based on what we purchased), all their lower priced wines. They were OK but we never had the opportunity to taste their higher priced wines. It is the first time I have ever been to a winery and did not buy their wines. A lost opportunity for the producer.

5 Wonderful experience (Donghee)Mirko received us with a warmth and hospitality. He wanted to make sure we had no allergies or food intolerances so we wouldn’t get sick. Then we both got a big plate of cured meats, cheeses, bruschetta and olive oil and the tasting began. The explanation of the wines was that of a man who is passionate about his work and his products. And for each glass we got the time to taste is in combination with our food. After the tasting, Mirko showed us around his farm, explaining the processes of winemaking and olive making. We were very lucky to have a private experience, since there were no other bookings for this date and time. Mirko didn’t rush himself through the experience, but let us relax and answered all our questions. And of course, we bought some wine and olive oil to bring home. It is delicious. We warmly recommend Mirko’s Poggi del Chianti winery for a true Tuscan tasting experience.

We chose the tasting option with just 4 wines, but we received so much more than that. The atmosphere was completely private, and the owner dedicated himself entirely to us – speaking about every single drop with so much warmth and passion that we felt like welcome guests rather than just tourists. Of course, we couldn't leave empty-handed, so we bought a few bottles of wine and some olive oil to take a piece of this paradise back home with us. If you are looking for an authentic Tuscan experience and people who truly live for what they do, you cannot miss this place!

5 A wonderful experience at Poggio Amorelli! (Sasa)The winery is set in a beautiful Tuscan landscape, surrounded by vineyards and the rolling hills of Chianti. The scenery and atmosphere alone make the visit worthwhile. The tasting was very well organized, relaxed and enjoyable, with no sense of being rushed or overly formal. The wines were very good, and we especially appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the local grape varieties, the winemaking process, and the character of the wines from this region. The staff were friendly, professional, and very welcoming. It is a perfect place for a break between Siena and San Gimignano, and a genuine little piece of Tuscany, exactly as you imagine it before coming here. We would gladly visit again. The tour itself was quite short, but the wine tasting lasted much longer than we expected, and we got to try more wines than originally announced. The family was incredibly attentive and shared lots of interesting insights about the wines and the winemaking process.
