My only disappointment was that there wasn’t a lot of information on how marsala was developed and the terroir.

5 A wonderful wine tasting for 4 (Michelle)2 couples were visiting from California and decided to do a wine tasting. We loved everything about this experience. 4 generous pours of wines which were all good, a nice personal plate of cheese and meat for each participant, and very friendly staff members. We also enjoyed walking around the property and the beautiful views.

5 Amazing olive grove tour and tasting in a beautiful setting (Suzanne)We were fortunate to experience the olive grove tour and olive oil tasting at Montesole Estate. Martha and her parents were gracious, welcoming hosts. The tour was informative, and it was fascinating to learn about the history of Terre di Landro olive oils. The setting is absolutely gorgeous, with incredible views over the surrounding countryside. We tasted three different olive oils, accompanied by cheese, salami, olive pâté, nuts, honey, and fresh bread. As I am coeliac, they even provided gluten-free crackers for me—a thoughtful touch that made the experience even more special. Everything was delicious. Montesole also has an extensive selection of wonderful Sicilian wines, and we enjoyed a lovely glass of wine with our tasting. It was truly one of the highlights of our visit to Sicily. They also offer wine tastings and brunch, and I am certain those would be just as lovely. We would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting the area.

Our hosts Antonella and Daniela were entertained us with explanations and details of their approach to growing vineyards and vegetables and how they scientifically managed necessary work. They really are caring toward their land. The dinner was superb rendering an authentic taste of naturally grown foods. The dinner al fresco is to be remembered by myself and my other three companions.

5 We had an amazing time! (Michael)We loved the Arancini Cooking Class among the Vines at Tenuta Bastonaca, The class was fun. The learning was easy and enjoyable because of the great instructor, and the arancini was delicious. Wine tasting included a lovely walk in the vineyards and an interesting tour of the cellars. The wine was so good that we bought a case. They also make olive oil and jam and we got some of those items as well. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable and eager to answer questions. I would highly recommend this experience.

5 Delicious and amazing family-run winery! (Eesha)My friend and I visited Cantina Fausta Mansio for the 9-wine tasting and it was exceptional! Olaf, the owner, was brilliant! He presented each wine indiviudally and told us about the grapes, their history and the production process of the wines. He was incredibly friendly, informative and happily answered all the questions we had! Each wine was paired with a local tapas-like small dish made by Olaf's wife, All of them were delicious and paired amazingly with the wine. Each dish tasted incredibly fresh and the olive oil used in the food was also produced in the vineyard! The location was great, it was easy and fairly quick (15-20 minutes) to reach by taxi from Siracusa. The surroundings were beautiful and very peaceful. Olaf and his wife created a comforting and lovely ambience surrounded by nature. We were lucky enough to hear Olaf's son playing piano during the tasting and he was amazing! It added to the peaceful feeling. I definitely recommend this tasting for a fun and interesting activity to do when visiting Siracusa!

We could not ask her questions and we did not get any new information about the wines. We think it was too expensive compared to the tasting.

3 A Lovely and Authentic Sicilian Wine Experience (Quincy)We had a lovely experience visiting this beautiful, rustic winery in Sicily. We were warmly welcomed and received a clear and interesting explanation of the winemaking process, including information about where the different grapes are grown. We did miss a brief personal introduction at the beginning, as the experience moved almost immediately into the details of winemaking. We had expected the visit to have a more relaxed seated wine tasting. Instead, the tasting took place while standing between the wine barrels. We also used the same glass for each wine, meaning the group had to wait until everyone had finished before moving on to the next one. A seated tasting area and separate glasses, or a way to rinse them between wines, could make the experience feel a little more relaxed. The small snacks and cheeses served alongside the wines were a very nice addition. Our personal favourites were the red wines. After the tasting, we had to wait for the temperature to cool down a little before visiting the vineyard. It was very thoughtful that folding chairs and tables were available to be put outside in the shade, where we could sit, relax and enjoy some of the wine we had purchased. One thing we were particularly looking forward to was the olive oil tasting. Unfortunately, this was not available because it was not the right season and the olive harvest had been relatively small that year, so the available oil had to be used sparingly. We completely understand the reason, although it was still a little disappointing as this had been one of the experiences we were excited about. We also expected a little more from the vineyard visit itself. We were not entirely sure beforehand what it would involve, but in practice it consisted mainly of walking across the road to see the vines and then returning to the winery. It could be a nice addition to spend a little more time there and explain the grape varieties, growing conditions or vineyard work while walking through the vines. Overall, the hospitality was excellent. We especially appreciated being able to stay at the outdoor foldable tables afterwards while waiting for our taxis. It was a relaxed and welcoming end to the visit, and we really enjoyed the setting, the wines and the friendly atmosphere.

5 Fabulous wine, lunch and tour (Kathy)If you are near Marsala in Sicily and looking for an authentic wine experience you must go here. Everything was as described or even better. We had a private tour of the winery with Francesco who was very knowledgeable and passionate about the wines and the vineyard. The pairing of thr the wine tasting with lunch was brilliantly done and the food fantastic. Excellent value for money. Do not hesitate to book this experience. .

Everybody had a great experience, the tour and the tasting was interesting and done by a very friendly guide. The pizza making was fabulous, I definitely leveled up my skills! Again the pizza guy was friendly and very helpful and the pizza we made was really good. The Augustali wines are good and we ended up buying several bottles before we went home. The only thing that could have been better is that it is very difficult to get to the farm. We had to book an expensive taxi ride to get there. A great add on would have been a pick up service to the nearest train station.

5 Refreshing in every way! (Susanna)We enjoy wine. We make wine a destination when we travel - and also at home in the Finger Lakes region of New York State. Our visit to Fausta Mansio was beyond expectations. Owner and winemaker, Olaf, greeted us warmly and told us about this family owned winery and the history of the local grapes. (Visit to learn the details.) Then came the tasting. Each wine was excellently paired with a delightful offering prepared by Olaf's wife, Paula. Everything we knew about the Moscato grape was replaced by a new understanding of what can be done with it in the hands of a gifted winemaker. Dry, well-balanced, refreshing! All four of the wines we tasted were expertly crafted. We shared wine, food and conversations like old friends. I highly recommend you discover Fausta Mansio when you're in the beautiful city of Siracusa.

5 A Must-Do Experience in Sicily (Sebastian)This was a brilliant experience, doing the wine and olive oil tasting with a tour of the vineyard and olive oil factory. The tasting experience was of fantastic quality, with great facts from the hosts. The food that accompanied it was of great quality. We loved getting a tour of the factory, learning about the process and the history of Etna providing the nutrient rich soil for vineyards. The host was fantastic - she even offered us a drive home so we didn’t have to walk in the heat (we kindly declined but appreciated the offer). It’s good value for money and they have a lovely shop to buy wines and olive oils made at the vineyard
