Santar is a village situated in the Portuguese region of Beira, in the municipality Nelas. It stands out for its cultural heritage and the beauty of its landscape marked by large vineyards, surrounded by mountains. Here granite marks its presence and transforms itself into a profusion of walls, fountains, and manor houses, along with agricultural, rustic, and religious buildings. Behind these walls, lie gardens on terraces and hectares of vineyards. The Santar Vila Jardim project recently brought together several gardens in the Historic Village, breaking walls, creating bridges, connecting spaces, and allowing visitors to visit the village and its cultural heritage through these green corridors.

Vinha Jardim was thus born in 2007 as part of the Santar Vila Jardim project, which initially produced the Conde de Santar wine and currently produces the Memórias de Santar wine in honor of all the Santarenses who contributed to the Santar vineyard landscape. In this unique context, integrated into the historic garden of Casa dos Conde de Santar e Magalhães, two noble and most representative varieties of their countries of origin were planted: Touriga Nacional de Portugal and Merlot from France.
